Jelly and icecream all around once they disappear and become NorthamptonCov or RugbyCov ....

irrelivant and stupid club plus fans

Nahhh...we need someone to hate and laugh at, and they ARE the closest club to us. It is sadly symptomatic of how shite owners can push a club into oblivion.

Things went wrong after they left highfield road, moved into a stadium too big for them. Very similar things going on down road at Nuneaton Town, clubs a total mess, idiot of chairman, crap manager, rubbish squad, poor crowds, club up for sale and now there's talk about the stadium being sold, one interested parties is supposedly the local rugby club which is no good as the relationship between to clubs isn't great as it is. So potentially Boro could be without home too.

On Cov last thing they should do is to play outside the city again, it didn't work when they were in Northampton and if you look now even the fans struggle to get to this stadium.

I quite like the enemy, so I've got some sympathy to spare for Cov.

I don't know who have faded into the abyss more, the Football Club or the band?

I feel sorry for Cov as well to be honest. Living in Hinckley, I went to college in Nuneaton, back when they where a consistent Championship side. And there was a lot of fans about then that I had some great banter with.

It's horrible to see any club going under, even Cov.

This. We could have ended up the same way and I really feel for Cov and its fans. However it would be entertaining if the trees were to collapse. I know I shouldn't really care about them, but I can't help it, old habit dies hard and all that

Just highlights how many true fans clubs like Coventry really have. The going gets tough, and the fans disappear.

The same would happen here though, we are not a real football City, and it could easily happen to us if we had a situation like theirs.

Before you disagree, we look like we have a ceiling of around 32k for normal games, as we are not selling out.

Think it was about 16k to 18k when we were struggling in the championship, with about 22k when we were chasing for the play offs.

Luckily we don't have Covs problems and never have done, but if we were playing at Northampton etc, you can take a guess that a good percentage reading this wouldn't be going to games.

So it's a sad state for them, and sad the fans have disappeared in their droves, butciukd have easily been us.

I almost feel sorry for them. Then I think about the trips there and that God awful 'interbred' song, and I don't mind seeing them suffer a little bit. I wouldn't want them to drop out of the league, but a few more years of this, maybe a couple of seasons in league 2, would be fine.

So many incorrect figures there.

Firstly we were averaging around 22,000 when struggling in the Championship and 20,000 in League One. When challenging for the play-offs, getting promoted etc they ranged from 23,000 to 26,000 (29,000 in the first season in the stadium). All in all pretty good figures for a club with no real history of success and one starved of top flight football in the recent past. Certainly a 'footballing city' (which is what exactly, by your definition? the most populated cities in the country who can naturally attract more fans but a smaller percentage of their population actually attend matches?)

Before Cov had their 'problems' they were averaging about 17,000 in the Championship and I'm not convinced Highfield Road was being filled when they moved out either.

32K is pretty decent and the ground is pretty much full for most games. And perhaps if the fans weren't getting fleeced there'd be more down there.

Yeh we might have been taken over by shitty owners and obviously a lot of people would stay away if we played in Northampton, and I don't blame them, but you can't argue our fanbases or crowds were similar or would have dropped like theirs have.

Video from last night.

Joke of a club on and off the pitch, on the pitch and in the stands.

Bit of background to this video as it's quite amusing and doesn't come across in the video, it's the 87th minute I think (I can only assume they picked the 87th in relation to their 1987 FA Cup ) and its 1-1 v Sheff United, they do this protest, which is quite pathetic (I can sympathise and understand the protest but it does looks pretty poor), it all calms down and the game resumes, whilst the fighting kicks off at the end of the video Sheff United score a 89th minute winner! :crylaugh:

Also like the way the fans with the flag are walking towards the stand as if they think they're amazing...erm your flags the wrong way round lads!

Saw the last half hour of the match. Didn't know what was going on with the fans and the whistles. Then came the pitch invasion.

Don't even look like that bad of a squad. Then again, I support Notts County lol.

I can understand the supporters being upset. Wasn't a violent show and the match was able to continue. Coventry losing was probably what they wanted anyway.

If they go down surely they wont survive? Watching that video christ it bring back some memories of when we took about 6k a filled behind the goal when Vassell got sent off. Horrible club and by the looks of things the fans in that corner havent improved that much either!

Really have only got themselves to blame when they can't even rally up a thousand people to go to games, there's sides in the conference that have better support

Have some sympathy really. The club, which historically has been solid and pretty regular member of the old First Division has ended up in this way due to poor management. You can cite the lack of support but it is reasonable to assume that any club's support would erode year on year under the circumstances. There's nothing to drag new support in and of those who do go, more and more are going to say "fck it" every month. I don't think it would be any different for us if we were subjected to the same!

The rumour for has been that they

will move in Coventry RFC's ground Butts Park Arena once it's developed a bit. Personally can't see it as they would be a lot of work required, it's about the same distance as Highfield Rd was from the city.

Think a park pitch would suffice with their support.
