Slimani

Slimani works hard, but still thinks he is playing in Europe.

For or a man who can obviously head a ball, his understanding of how to attack/defend kaspers kicks is woeful. Ulloa is streets ahead.

Okasaki can't tackle so we were always on a loser today with those two starting up front.

Slimani's v poor effort from albrightons back header led to their goal. A 30m player should be able to hit the target with that shot, basically he ain't good enough.

Rather play Ulloa and Musa personally.

There were crosses going in, he just never attacked them. Ulloa did more in 25minutes than he did all game.

There were crosses going in, or shall we call them hopeful punts into the box mainly from Albrighton but hardly anything he had a chance of getting on to. One decent cross all game which Ulloa should have scored from. Ulloa was much better in general play though.

Could that be something to do with us losing when we brought on Ulloa and trying to save a point. If Slim had headed the ball straight at the keeper like Ulloa did he would get even more abuse.

So don't even try to head the ball so you can't be criticised?

His poor touch, lack of pace, lack of effort and lack of putting himself about a bit has nothing to do with service.

There are few clubs where you could go a long time without scoring but get no stick from your own fans because you're giving it everything and putting yourself about up

front. Leicester City is one.

Those blaming service and/or scapegoating are talking nonsense.

But you have to applaud Ulloa for going for it, attempting.

Sluggy wouldn't have even bothered, or be no-where near.

I very rarely absolutely slate players but Slimani was woeful, 0/10.

One of the guys near me likened him to Akinbiyi and today he was atrocious.

Yea but I'd expect Ulloa to go for a free header. I can't remember many crosses beating the first man when Slimani was in the box but I barely watched after the 70th minute because I knew it was over

Might be a chemistry thing I guess, not sure the wingers and Slimani are on the same page yet.

I hope he was playing with a fever or something because Leo was considerably better in his short cameo (and had a shot on goal) than Slim whole game.

He really should spend some extra hours on his ball control because this isn' funny anymore.

Pointless player in the prem. can't hold the ball up, no pace can't shoot, can't play with his back to goal. 30 mil down the drain. Really think we got him to appease mahrez.

Not a £30 million player. If he is managed right, he will contribute well, one day.

He didn't have a chance because he doesn't attack the ball, just stands still and lets the jeep come and claim the ball unchallenged.

I do agree that he needs to attack the ball better/move to the ball rather than letting it come to him but the crosses that Robles collected were soft and floated - very difficult to attack.

I should point out that I'm playing devils advocate a little as I agree that he should be doing more...I just feel that it's easy to blame him rather than the likes of Albrighton (who looks long every time with very little quality) and Simpson (who very rarely puts in a decent ball - today for Ulloa the exception)

He's a big problem because of his price tag Raniari thinks he has to play him which isn't doing the team any good. ulloa is an all round better player and if we let him leave it's going to cost us big time. All Slimani did today was moan and win nothing.

You do know that 30 million quid gets you pretty much top notch. Not the best, of course, but still in the echelons of very very good.

At 30 million pound, this bloke looks a fookin disaster at the moment.

I still can't work out if it's HIM, who's dire (no pace whatsoever) or the supply?

I think it may be a bit of both.

I'm not going to write him off yet, plenty of players take time to adapt, but for people to say people calling him a "poor man's Ulloa are deluded" are themselves deluded.

He's shown absolutely nothing Ulloa hasn't for us yet (and far less). Slimani could well come good, but Ulloa is absolutely better than him from what we've seen from both in a Leicester shirt and Ulloa absolutely should be starting ahead of him atm.

Sadly along with Musa, Slimani is a very very average player and nowhere near Prem level. We've spunked 45m up the wall on 2 guys that will offer us nothing. Either accept that and do something now or wait for the inevitable and watch as they want out come the summer...

At this level I think a price tag of  £30 million should guarantee quite a bit more of a player than we've seen thus far. He works hard but some of his basic skill levels for his age and alleged experience really are quite poor which is possibly why no one else has  been chasing after him for the past few years. Inflated markets resulted in us paying about double what he's worth I'm.  Musa the same.

Ndiddi will be the next big unproven star for a huge price tag, but it would be really unfair to expect a 20 yrs old kid to come in from a poor league and be the panacea to our problems.

For £30mill I expected much more.... Missed a decent chance today, missed a free header against Manchester City too.

He's a bit faster than Ulloa but I can't see anything else.

We've wasted a fair amount of money this summer.

I'll repeat this what I said about two weeks ago.

No better than Ulloa. £30mill is a joke.

Care to quote people directly?

My point still stands. You're deluded. He had a poor game today. The guy was a starter and in constant progression in Sporting Portugal who are better, by a fvcking country mile, than the actual team who lost at home against an even crappier team.

He can link up well given there are players around him who're willing to. Remember the first goal against ManCity. He ain't a first class technician that's for sure, but can hold the ball well and put a lot of pressure on a defence when correctly used and getting decent crosses. Problem is that he's played as a workhorse and too far from the box. Don't even want to talk about the crosses (or the lack of) he's getting. The actual formation and the midield level are making any forward look like utter shit anyway.

Hate it when the fans switch to witch hunting mode when it clearly is a collective meltdown and a coach management failure. Slim can nothing about Benny Hill level goals like Everton's first.

Reminds of Zieler taking every possible flak while the defense and midfield were absolute shit.
