£3 million an insult and it would be ridiculous to sell to a rival at that price.

Still not convinced that he is surplus to requirements in any case he has come up with some crucial goals and are any of the other strikers anywhere near their best at the moment?

3mil bid rejected according to Sky.

3m? do they want him or not?

Was that an offer of payment as part of a loan bid?

Certainly hope they weren't trying to sign him for that amount!

And 11m as suggested above?

Wouldn't be a disgrace (although it would value him still less than Schlupp which is madness) but it would still be a stupid move.

If he didn't want to leave and give up a salary that he knew he wouldn't get elsewhere then he'd use his contract as the security to protect his best interests. It should, however, work both ways. It's not in the club's best interests to sell him just yet so he should respect a contract that he signed and Tweets about "feeling like a footballer again" are foolish.

That said, it's a difficult one. He's scored some important goals, been a credit during our most successful times but isn't quite good enough to be a starter for a top half Premier League side (as we aim to be). I'd only sell if we've got two other strikers in before the close of the window and if we get back what we paid (which would be more than fair given the inflated fees these days).

Keep him and stick him in the u23s. Serves him right for causing problems.

Be shocked if we sell him to Sunderland... Watch him score crucial goals to damage us if so!

Just get a deal done with Galatasaray.

Only cos of the money they offered him.

Was he the manager when defoe signed?

I thought he was but just checked and it looks like it was Payet judging by the dates.

They've done us a favour haven't they.

They've gone and signed Rudkin on the QT. He's doing the bidding for them lollollol

If they offered 3 million then i'd take that as an absolute  insult and never sell him to them (no matter  what they come back with). I wouldnt sell him to Sunderland anyways seeing as we may be in a relegation battle with them.

I can sort of understand Alaves making small bids as they're genuinely operating on a completely different kind of budget to us, but Sunderland and Galatasaray, what's their excuse? Absolutely derisory and embarrassing.
