Leicester City v Chelsea post match thread 0 - 3

It feels wrong to single one player out after that, but I'm so sick of watching Albrighton. With the exception of his cross to Slimani vs West Ham, he's been completely ineffective going forward for over a year now. He's in the team simply because he runs around. He has no class with the ball whatsoever.

Last season we played Our game and let teams try and stop us.

This season Ranieri is trying to change it, and it's not working as he is setting us up to stop the opposition first and us score second!

He is doing half the opponents job for them before kick off.

He let them loose once this season and we beat Man C, other than that our team selections and formations confuse us as much as it is the players.

Partnerships take time on the field and we currently have 11 players unsure of each other's game.

Chelseas defence won't have an easier game all season.

They had time on the ball and could pick passes for fun.

In any walk of like if you are soft with the people who work for you they will take the piss and slacken off; the players always seem very happy during training yet deliver garbage performance after garbage performance. And the manager seems pleased!

I don't think CR has the cajones to call the players out.

These players are responsible for the greatest achievement in CR career - he can't bring himself to to see they have gone backwards, and the players probably see him as a soft touch. He won't get rid when he needs to and the players don't have the hunger because they are not being pushed by quality additions. We need better quality players all over the pitch and a change of approach. I'm embarrassed by our style of football. It's disgraceful and am completely fed up with it.

Will only end one way if this continues.

Absolutely vulgar. Why play 5 at the back when they didn't even play a striker? Then keep 3 centre halves at 3-0? Bizarre. Ranieri is baffling me. Genuinely worried for the short term and long term under Ranieri. Head is firmly up his own arris.

Agree. His decisions seem to be coming from Eileen or somewhere similar!!!

Good God!

The team, the way we play, the commitment, the chances...everything....is so far removed from last season, it's almost impossible to clearly explain.

It can't ALL be about Kante, surely?

That was utter utter garbage. Clueless.

Kante broke play down 15 yards further up the pitch, at a point where opposition full backs and midfielders were pouring forward. It meant we hurt teams more. This season, we break up play on the edge of our own area, play a long ball to the half way line where we get swamped by defenders.

We dont hit hit the channels easily because of this, mahrez is trying to beat players from the half way line rather than the 18 yard box.

a SIGNIFICANT amount of our performance this year is because we lost kante.

Bollocks, Ndidi was one of the best Leicester players in the first half, would like to see how much touches he has had. He was constantly on the ball even demanding the ball. Don't know what game you saw. Has had more interceptions than Mendy and unlike Mendy he made some deep forward passes. If you are looking for players that need slidings to intercept you will be dissapointed by Ndiddi because he nearly never will make one, a good defender doesn't need slidings or hard tackles, he outsmarts. Exactly what Ndidi did, not a world-class performance but he was one of the best Leicester-players on the pitch today.

He was and not only in the first half. But why state facts when they get in people's opinions way?

Pathetic. 3-5-2 wasn't a bad idea, but to not change it when the game was effectively over at 2-0 was criminal.

Drinkwater played like the guy who got dropped in 2012. Albrighton, despite a couple of decent crosses early on, couldn't find a blue shirt. Vardy couldn't be arsed. Musa could, but he's shite. No idea what was up with Fuchs.

Ndidi, Gray and Mendy first half were decent.

Just when you thought we'd turned the corner... back to square one. Chelsea didn't have to get out of second gear and they twatted us.

Its got to the stage that the team might as well be changed completely, what if Huth and Morgan never played again; maybe we'd lose some games 3-0 or 4-0. So nothing new there, get rid of those two who have been crap all season. Build the defence around Schmeichel, get him involved in what kind of players he wants to see in front of him. I doubt it'd be two cart horses. 2 from 3 of Fuchs, Simpson and Chillwell and a couple of new capable central defenders.

Drinkwater started the season well but has become a liability. Either passes to the opposition or fouls them. Mahrez can't be bothered anymore, its like he's achieved all he can with LC and its time to move on. Albrighton is a good Championship player but not really any better than that. So why not lose all three there.

Oka isn't at it this season when surprisingly Ulloa has been. Vardy is ineffective if no one is capable of actually passing to him. Its a long shot doing huff ball from 60 yards away, it worked once last season against Liverpool with a Worldy but Worldys don't come around too often.

Bring in at least a couple of Central defenders and let them bid for those roles in the first team, they won't have to be particularly good to become first choice. Niddi, Mendy, Grey and Mahrez should be the first choice midfield until Drinkwater sorts his shit out.

Then its Slimani with Ulloa as deputy and Musa with Vardy as deputy for up front.

There is no point buying players and not playing them when those you are playing are shit. Whats that say to the buying calibre? I'd like to see Morgan and Huth retired in the Summer. Albrighton benched next year. Drinkwater sorted out or sold. Mahrez sorted out or sold. Give the new blood a solid run for the next 2 months, they can't do any worse. That means regular starts for Schmeichel, Grey, Chllwell, Ndidi, Mendy, Slimani with the rest fighting for a place or moved on.
