The police are the law and we can't stop them doing what they do.

Never said otherwise, may have disagreed with the methods, but never said otherwise.

Our idiots throwing bottles and cans at them are starting the trouble and others get hurt as well.

Again, never said otherwise, and I was pretty critical of the nationalist muppets singing Ten German Bombers etc.

Agreed.

Pretty depressing that people would rather sing about a rock that they'll never visit than their own club too.

Shouldn't be surprised after Sunday though. We are a bunch of oddballs overall.

the Spanish police were always going to be heavy handed especially with the recent tensions between the U.K and Spain and it is just common sense for Leicester fans not to goad them or cause any sort of trouble

From what I've heard this morning on the radio, it all kicked off when those flares went off in the square.

As soon as that happens, you get out.  Anyone staying behind to watch what happened next is asking for trouble, innocent or not.

If I'd have gone out there, I'd have done two nights away, find something touristy to do for the day, get back to the hotel, have a drink and head off for the game.  At the end of the day, if you've travelled over you're there to watch a game, not get tanked up on beer and cause trouble for the locals.  That square made the local tip look like a palace.  Why would you travel out there to drink heavy, throw litter around and give it this and that?  All it does is incite the locals and cause trouble.

Makes no sense.

Anyone else on here in oneills last night?

The atmosphere in there was quality. Singing from the beginning of the Dortmund match until 30 minutes after the city match finished.

One of if not the best nights I've ever had watching the football in a pub easily.

I'm not condoning the minority of our idiotic fans over the last couple of days - the footage speaks for itself.

But I'm curious to know if the ticketless Sevilla fans who came to Leicester the other week to deliberately cause trouble were treated in the same manner by our police? Pretty sure they were'nt battered around the head with batons or had a police van driven into them...

I take it the Atletico fans won't have any complaints if our police adopt the same approach next week either.

I've no sympathy for the cops. That brigade are like Maggie's army against the miners in the eighties. They will assert control at a very early stage even if there are casualties. Equally I don't have time for the attitude and behaviour of a minority of Foxes fans. Would they have done the same in Red Square? No.

Thankfully fans like you are in the majority. I just wondering how much it would have taken for someone to organise a couple of people in Hi-Vis with a bin bag to pick up the stuff that was being dropped by these pigs? I know they shouldn't have to do it, but you only have to look at festivals and the mess left behind at Viccy Park last year to realise peoples brain drops out of their arse when they've been drinking.

True about the getting out bit but robocop was pretty quick in blocking the exits from what I saw from my balcony.

Had some friends across the world ask me about the Gibraltar chants and increased European tension. Fame!

British police are a joke anyway, the amount people can get away with in this country is beyond anything. They are not firm in any way.

This is taking it way too far.

It's litter ffs, why do you think everyone was specifically told to go to this one square?

They expect the rubbish, it's part and parcel of having thousands of people in the same place, they couldn't give a shit about it and it's gone by the next morning

There is so much more to be bitching about than a bit of mess in a designated area.

To be fair there are plenty of people condoning police violence on here at the moment.

like the United Airlines thing.. too many people just suckers for "authority" and its right to act however they see fit. They have been brainwashed by the media to always blame the victims.

This is why the "if youve done nothing wrong youve nothing to fear" statement is most troubling. Its trotted out and no mind is paid to the innocents caught up in the bullshit

i'm all for this trouble at football matches, puts the terrorists off for a start! and you at least know where all the coppers are, anyone with a suicide jacket on is not going to walk into the centre of a football riot and blow himself up is he.

Have to agree (sadly) with that. Sure that Leicester fans away from the big groups can (as always) blend in and enjoy the occasion fine. But the herd tendency takes over with fans when they meet up in a crowded centre. Would have been better if fans had boycotted the Plaza Mayor - plenty of other places to chill out and enjoy the atmosphere.

And there were better and much cheaper places to go. Literally 50 yards from square an excellent bar and €1.5 a 'pint'. Plaza Mayor €5 to €8.

Finally...

To  all the Atleti fans we met - brilliant people and many thanks for your hospitality.

To the riot police - please learn the 'mirror, signal, manoeuvre' school of policing rather than wade in and tw@t anyone (young and old) who happens to be in range
