IMO good point away from home

Yes but not when you throw away a two goal lead.

CP appear to be made of sterner stuff these days, was an excellent comback that could have easily seen them win 3-2. But we finished strongly so a draw was probably the best and fairest result for the day.

I worry for the back line in next weeks game. Benny and Simpson took knocks and Huth is barred and its looking like Morgan wont make it back from his sick leave. With neither preferred central defender its hard to see how Athletico wont score more than they need to go through.

There is a lot of new buying needed for Leicester. King is no decent sub for drinkwater who is way off the pace himself. Albrighton has had some good games this season but returned to his usual stadard today. Then there is a complete overhaul of the back line. I recon there needs to be at least 4 first team signings this summer and we only managed one this season, in Ndidi.

Already feeling next season could be a slog.

Not if we actually sign some decent back up and cut the dead wood. We can be competitive top ten at least.

Would have been a good win given Pallardyce's recent form but a point is good for both teams. No league draw for us since New years Day so it was coming.

Got off to a fine start but we were a bit casual throughout with Tuesday in mind.

Put together some nice passing moves only for things to falter outside the box. Excellent goal by Vardy.

No complaints about the equalizer. Could have been argued Slim did something similar against Sunderland.

Tough few games ahead but we've ensured survival I'd say.

Now for Tuesday.

Who nicked your hot cross bun? Take stock things are not that bad mate you need to write of next season.

Some good points about recruits and next week, we can give em what we have got.

Keep smiling. :D

Yep, would've been called as a foul if it had been Huth and not Benteke that scored...

Tbh I'd be more worried about why Huth was climbing all over Benny to score for Palace. lol

I was flying home, landed just before full time so know nothing more than we were leading 2-0 and ended up drawing 2-2, as disappointing as that is i'd have took a draw before the game.

Not sure what to make of the team though, could have done with resting one or two maybe? It's a dodgy one either way, damned if you do, damned if you don't I guess.

Decent game to watch and a brave decision by Shakey to play pretty much our best available team. I only hope it hasn't backfired on us with injuries and more fatigue from some players. It's never nice to loose two goals but I guess that had as much to do with Tuesday as anything. With some teams and what's on Tuesday many players would have taken the easy option and took it easy. But to be fair to the lads they all put in a shift and we would have taken a draw before the game.

One more win should be enough for safety.

I also take it from Amartey not playing that Morgan will play on Tuesday, Otherwise it seems daft not to give him a run a CB today.

Roll on Tuesday and onwards and upwards we go.

Considering Palace have beaten Arsenal and Chelsea recently, this was a decent result. We were under pressure but the performance was reminiscent of last year, score early and then defend. The only difference is last year we had all the luck, this season a lucky ricochet falls straight to Cabaye and the ref let Benteke use Benny as a climbing frame.Hopefully Shakey's gamble pays off and Benny is fit for Tuesday and the players aren't too tired.

There's no point to football if you turn your nose up at opportunities like this. The "long term health" of the club often gets seen as an end whereas as I think of it more as a means to an end. Our place in the PL has allowed us to compete in this great competition, it seems a total waste to me not to try and take full advantage now it's here.

I take your point, we will probably never have another chance in the CL but... if we went down that would mean the break up of the team, financial peril and back to square one and potentially the owners getting restless.

It is our own fault for being in this position, we should have a much more comfortable league position and then be able to go for the CL with abandon.

That said, after today;s results I think we're all but safe now.

After sleeping on it (lazy Saturday afternoon, plus I'd had quite a few pints before noon watching the match) - not bothered by the result. Palace are actually quite the team to watch these days, and they're playing with a chip on their shoulder. Decent outcome.

Classic case of getting a result I'd have taken before the game, but now I've got it I'm not happy with it.

I think by and large we manage a lot of games well, so I don't sense a long term issue - although the stat about us not dropping points from a winning position all season has had the London bus effect, two games in a row now.

Midfield weren't in the game enough for me. That's where the bulk of the blame would lie for me. King just isn't good enough for this level.

Thought Mike Dean was awful as well. No consistency in his decisions what so ever.

At least Craig is showing he has learnt King is a back up for Drinky and the two don't go together.

Shinji obviously a starter for Althletico and wants all the minutes he can get out of him. Leo had the whole game to hold up possession.

After thought I'll take the point gladly.

Decent result away at an inform side. We did well to go 2 up, even if we were a bit sloppy in being pegged bag. Happy to pick up an away point though as it keeps us moving after the blip at Everton and allows us to pick up 1 of the 4 points we need before we can say we are 100% safe. One more win will do the job, so happy days.

Priority now has to be getting the squad through to Tuesday and I'd back our backroom staff there. Morgan fit would be a welcome boost too.

I'd rather we'd given the lads a rest and effectively thrown the game by playing the reserves tbh

Hull and Swansea both have very winnable games next Saturday while we don't play.. The point we picked up today could,  potentially keep us up!...

I think Shakey did exactly the right thing by playing a near full strength side today.

PL survival is paramount over and above the extremely slim chance of CL glory.

Very good away point. Just hope the injuries aren't too bad. It looks as though CS is more likely to put Fuchs CB than Amartey from the subs today.

It could be he didnt want to risk Amartey...either 1st choice for AM, or simply as cover for CL or..for the rest of the season...

watching the game back on motd, Cabaye scores because Benalouane gets dragged out to LB despite Fuchs already being there, meaning King has to cover at CB and leave Cabaye open.

Could argue Bennys at fault for both goals.. He does have a lot of lapses in concentration. Needs to play much better on Tuesday.

N'Didi lazy and uninterested for their first. Had two chances to clear. Benalouane fouled for the second no doubt.
