UPinCarolina Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Good to see Fuchs back, Matty James looks trim as does Kingy, Maguire is massive, Shinji looks like he's gotten stronger TBH
CyprusFox Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 6 minutes ago, AKCJ said: Precisely. 30-35m is virtually feck all. If Mahrez is still here on deadline day and Arsenal need him then they will pay the money. If they don't we've got a player we rate at 50m for another year. There is not a single valid reason to sell for less than the asking price. Absolutely.

lgfualol Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Shinji could be the biggest guy on earth but would fall when the ball comes near him

LestaAl Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Convinced I spotted a 'desperate not to be recognised' Riyad in arrivals at Brum airport last night with his wife and a huge pile of cases. Not sure which flight he had been on- Barcelona was one possibility.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Seems they have managed to keep themselves in good shape which is good

I think it's just the way he plays really. Doubt beefing up will do much to change it. When I played youth football there was always someone on the floor when trying to tackle or pass or shoot, Okazaki is that person.
psychonaut Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Looks like the summer break has thickened Shinji's hair up...

Joefox Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Looking back I'm surprised he didn't push harder for a move last year considering he obviously wants to get out badly and Kante left. He's probably looking at Kante now and regretting not leaving. i don't know who's advising him but he needs to sack them. He should have pushed for a move behind closed doors. Clubs are looking at him not knowing for sure if he's a one season wonder or a lack of effort. I personally think it's a mixture of the two. A great player but he was bound to drop off a bit after a season like that but it's the lack of effort that's made him look worse than he is. The club is is under no obligation to sell him on the cheap though I do just want him to leave now.
justfoxes Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Nice little read regarding Mahrez and a snippet about Gray!! http://m.goal.com/s/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2017/07/07/36902292/why-does-no-one-want-to-buy-mercurial-mahrez?utm_referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fc.newsnow.co.uk%2FA%2F892926271%3F-36514%3A815%3A0

No one wants to buy Mahrez because LCFC valued him at 50 mil. Plus there are a couple of months left on the transfer window
smr Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Jeezus. Some people need to get a grip. Yes he can be a bit sulky, yes its not the most excitable looking walk to training a player has ever made, but the comments from fans on here is a bit OTT. He is an amazing footballer, he's not quite at the level of Barcelona but that's more his inconsistency than anything else, if he was on it every game he'd fit right in there imho. Let's not forget that this guy played a massive part in helping us win the league, and even though we won the league by 10 points remember how heart in mouth the last few games were, tense AF. Every decision, stroke of the ball, moment of elegance and magic he had that season helped us win it and without him we probably wouldn't have. I think it's fair enough for him to want a new challenge, fair play to him. If he's a bit sulky looking A) it shouldn't be a surprise because he's known for it and B) I'd rather have one Riyad Mahrez who wanted to go elsewhere after a few years and a man who helped us win the league than a loyal player who stuck with us for a dozen years and had 5 percent of the impact he has had.

Plus he probably would want too much in wages too, but nope it's all our faults because we value him too much for others to take that gamble.
Fox92 Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Nobody is going to pay £50million on the back of one season.
dayday Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 I really hope there are no bids and he knuckles down, with the players coming in these are exciting times and he can benefit from that.

Well those are factors too, but 50mil is the most substantial. I want him to stay, but I'm stating the facts
Legend_in_blue Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 I think he has been ill advised from the outset. Mistake number 1. If he really did want out at the end of the season before last, before being persuaded to stay, why get suckered in by a 3 year deal? The club are immediately going to play hardball with anyone interested a year down the line - and so they should, they're paying him 100k a week and he is the most valuable asset at the club. Mistake number 2. He shouldn't have made a statement at the end of the season in the way he did. He pretty much burned the bridges there and then by issuing that statement. It's all well and good thanking the fans, the club and all and sundry but the fact of the matter is, he's still here, and I'm certain that whoever told him to issue that statement did so in the belief that he wouldn't be here now. Whoever has advised him, has put him in an awkward position. What he needs to do is revoke the statement, knuckle down, put a shift in and get the consistency back. For all those who still think he's the best technical player they've ever seen in an LCFC shirt, there's equally likely to be someone who shares a little animosity for him after the way in which he conducted himself at the end of last season. Let the performances on the pitch do the talking and he'll turn those against him around whilst at the same time rekindling interest from the so called bigger club that he craves, of which I'm not convinced Arsenal is one tbh, but one that is better than nothing at all.
Almo-Fox Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Just listen to Craig Shakespeare interview with Ian stringer I like this man, decent, pro, and measured words, hope he can show the world what he is capable of in coaching and managing Leicester city Good answers, but I do believe mahrez is leaving , bcz when asked at the end about what he sees as transfer needs he kept quiet and cannot name positions he do need When asked about mahrez attitude and statment , he showed strength and diplomacy Good luck
Sly Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Word on the street, he'll be staying until the start of the season unless anything significant changes. Blows all those fake Twitter accounts out the water that we're adamant he'd signed for Arsenal earlier this week. No one is willing to meet our valuation. We value him at a price that we'll need to replace him.
