When you say confirm....

Yes that I have definitely read about it or heard it off somebody.

So to be clear, unequivocal confirmation of me thinking it or possibly hearing about it.

Nailed on.

This would be a real show of intent from the club. Could make other deals more possible as well if we show some ambition. Need the manager decision sorting soon though

The delay is getting farcical!

It is, you would have thought if they were going to give it Shakey it would have been done by now... can only imagine they have been looking at other options

I think they must be.. It's the only explanation.

Please God hope Woy isn't in the frame again!!

Deary me.

That would be a massive blunder appointing Woy.

Back to the dark ages.

Back to the threads' theme; we should move heaven and earth to get this guy Sigirsdsson; 13 assists in a relegation threatened side is very very good. His goals also. 8 was it?

I just have this terrible sinking feeling of late that this is going to be dire summer and we'll be in a relegation scrap next season.

I say that thinking not necessarily about Glyfi but about how it doesn't feel like we have a snowball's chance in Hell of landing him.

The only explanation? How about...

1) Shakey is on holiday and will sign the deal when his agent has it all sorted.

2) They are just ironing out the technicalities.

3) Like Pearson before him, he wants all the backroom teams contracts sorting out first before committing himself.

That's three possible explanations off the top of my head.

Please stop this talk of the Owl.. That is wrist slitting material.  If this happens, I will pay my own personal release clause and start supporting the Trees.

I'm seeing a lot who think that he's worth more than £30 million. Don't seem to have issues with him as a player, either.

His stats in a weak as hell Swansea side easily speak for themselves.

Might not be world class, but definitely better than anyone we could play at #10.

I think I read that since he signed for Swansea  only Christian Eriksen (who Barcelona are apparently interested in) has more goals + assists.

30m is, frankly, a steal. He's only 27 so he's hitting prime.

Does it still show Everton as faves to sign him or are we now favourites?

He is 4/7 Everton and 5/1 us

We have a problem competing with everton

the moshiri arrival had a big fanfare but up till now their nett spend hasn't been so big. koeman criticising Walsh in January when the  schneiderlin deal took too long. If they were to miss out on gylfi (assuming he came here) then that would cause problems with their fan base - I don't think they can afford to miss him unless they have someone else already in place to proceed with.

Thats a good idea. He could wack 20 million on us signing him at 5-1, bid 36 million, get the offer accepted and bish bosh jobs a good 'un!  Free clappers for the next 20 years!
