Do u honestly think we're not active as soon as the transfer market opens. Every club is but it's similar to buying a house where there's a chain. A club won't sell u a player unless they sign a replacement first. There's many factors involved. Just because transfers aren't completed straight the way doesn't mean the club isn't trying and their sitting in an office somewhere twiddling their thumbs it's deadline day!!

We are told the clubs have agreed a fee on this. I'm not 100% but I'm fairly certain that we were quite far along in signing James McArthur before pulling out last minute and going with Cambiasso.
Ted Maul Posted 13 June 2017 Posted 13 June 2017 It's amazing that things seem to happen when you offer the asking price early doors. Hopefully the sign of things to come! Get this over the line then drive to Swansea and smash £30m on their table.

Similar age/type of player to liam Moore who we still had at the time so was abit of a pointless risk given their experience. Solid, no nonsense defender who has Premier league experience and won't need time to settle so decent signing given our lack of central defenders. Side note to all the Football Manager players quoting prices and opinions.....90%of the transfer fee's u read on Twitter are not true and Clubs don't just sign cheques for the amounts u read. Fee's, wages, bonuses etc are spread over a number of years depending on the players contract etc!! I remember we liked him a lot when he was a teenager at Sheffield United. Excited if this comes off. Sensible signing. @All - if we do sign him for a reasonable fee, is it Rudkin in again or is this a Walsh signing? ?

Foxxed Posted 13 June 2017 Posted 13 June 2017 Are we getting a new captain or a new Huth? Or will he add to our 60 million pound bench warmers?

The whole world smiles Posted 13 June 2017 Posted 13 June 2017 I'm surprised people aren't more excited by this signing, if true I think this is an unbelievable bit of business by the club he ticks loads of boxes. - he's English. - he's young. - has prem experience. - he's tall. - aparently he is good pro with a very good attitute. - seems mad to say but at 17 million he is cheap in the current market. - Comfortable with ball at feet unlike 3 of our current back 4. - he is bloody good at defending. In fact I reckon if you asked knowledgable and sensible leicester fans to write down a list of 10 realistic transfer targets who they would like to see the club try and get this summer I reckon he would be on at least half of those lists. So fantastic to get him in so early in the summer and under the nose of other teams of our ilk.

Under the tutelage of Wes and Huth we could have a defender that is going to be with us for many premier league seasons to come
Tuna Posted 13 June 2017 Posted 13 June 2017 I'd have Maguire partner Huth with Kasper becoming captain. Big Wes phased out.

Vindaloo FOX Posted 13 June 2017 Posted 13 June 2017 if this is really happening i'm over the moon, we have been crying out for a young, tall, prem experienced CB for a long time . 17 million is not that bad also .

Agreed - I posted from the outset that if the player wants to come here (and you would hope we had done our homework with his agent) then the deal would be done.
