There's reports going through for loads of good signings being completed (some are targets we've been after also, but obviously not got)!! Why are Leicester dithering? I don't expect us to be held to ransom, but if we were offering a good deal, we'd have signed a couple more already!.....frustrating ! I think a lot of deals are done before they even become news. Ake obviously had ties to Bournemouth, Keane had decided on Everton already. The press connect every team to certain players just for publicity reasons. LCFC are probable candidates for only ten% of the players the media connect us to. I believe the management team have a list of players and Rudkin and staff are working on that list but if a player doesn't see his future here then it aint gonna happen.
foxfanazer Posted 30 June 2017 Posted 30 June 2017 Do people think Rudkin gets into his office in the morning and just sits there scratching his head thinking 'I'm sure there was something I'm meant to be doing today' We don't know the ins and outs of individual deals so its unfair to speculate. I'd rather him take his time than spend £15m on another Musa

But given the list of bad signings in the last summer window (when our stock was the highest it has ever been), this does point to someone or some people making seriously bad judgement calls on recruitment. So who takes the blame for this? The scouts?
SheppyFox Posted 30 June 2017 Author Posted 30 June 2017 Top: I'll make a deal with you Mr Rudkin; I'll pardon last summer if you get this one right, fail however and heads will roll.
richardsfoxes Posted 30 June 2017 Posted 30 June 2017 Could have nearly 100M worth of bids over the weekend

My understanding is that it's because any money spent before July 1 will be counted in last seasons spending. So tomorrow we'll announce Kelechi for 27M. Sunday we'll announce Gibson for 17M. Monday will be the time we announce Delph on a season long loan. Tuesday we announce Gylfi for 33M plus add ons. Wednesday Rudkin prances into training shouting 'Don't stop me now, I'm having such a good time, I'm having a ball...... Thursday I put down the crackpipe

Wymsey Posted 30 June 2017 Posted 30 June 2017 Really need a young forward similar to Vardy. Ulloa needs to go, whilst Slimani is different. Iheanacho is one who is very similar to Vardy. Could potentially be a great coup and would put less strain on Rudkin if he both comes and impresses great.

But as said before, Man City are not in a rush to sell (they don't need the money) and are probably waiting for other clubs to come in with better offers. Essentially play clubs off each other. It'll go on for a while no doubt. yeah i thought so, from what I remember Man City wanted to get someone in first before they got rid of him thought i guess its always fun being an LCFC, hopefully this thread will go pasted the Nicky Maynard one

Thursday I put down the crackpipe Would love to just buy Delph below cost, he is precisely the sort of reclamation project LCFC can manage. Has that touch of class, can bring the ball forward, though has it in him mentally to play a more defensive MF. Plus Delph would frickin' love to play at LCFC, no question in my mind. He would immediately be our best MF on the ball, so he would have plenty of opportunities to bring the ball fwd and provide that critical controlled link to the attack that he loves so much.
