Farrington fox Posted 4 July 2017 Share Posted 4 July 2017 Deeney, oh god, surely we should be setting our sights higher than him. If he's valued at +20 mil, then Mahrez is worth triple.

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 4 July 2017 Share Posted 4 July 2017 My thinking was that it'd be Slimani and Deeney as maybe CS wants two options of this style. Then Vardy, Iheanacho, Okazaki as the forwards. But seen that Ulloa might have been offered a new contract, so not so sure. I wouldn't want us to sell Slimani. FoxinNotts Posted 4 July 2017 Share Posted 4 July 2017 Deeney has too many 'e's is his name, and probably too many E numbers in his diet

Will1981 Posted 4 July 2017 Share Posted 4 July 2017 Slimani is much better. http://www.squawka.com/comparison-matrix#premier_league/2016/2017/islam_slimani/819/641/12669/0/p|premier_league/2016/2017/troy_deeney/819/641/11010/0/p|premier_league/2015/2016/troy_deeney/819/165/11010/0/p#assists/goals_scored#

Hmm do we really need 5 strikers though? 4 might be enough, plus Gray/Barnes who can play as a second striker if required.
nnfox Posted 4 July 2017 Share Posted 4 July 2017 Troy Deeney doesn't bring enough improvement to the team to justify a 20m+ fee. I would sooner have Iheanacho that is for sure. Leo or Shinji would have to go if Deeney came here. I'm not sure Deeney's strengths would compensate the loss that either of those leaving would cost. Ian Nacho Posted 4 July 2017 Share Posted 4 July 2017 Would absolutely love that. I know I'm going to get abused but I'd take Deeney over Iheanacho any day taking into consideration the buy back clause.
lgfualol Posted 4 July 2017 Share Posted 4 July 2017 Id still take him over Okazaki and Ulloa, even if he could be mistaken for a bus nowadays. At least he stays on his feet and knows where the goal is.

Chocolate Teapot Posted 4 July 2017 Share Posted 4 July 2017 It's rare that if a deal is going to happen a bid gets made public first. Sounds like games to me, not sure about this one. Personally think he'd be great though.

brucey Posted 4 July 2017 Share Posted 4 July 2017 John Cross seems like a legit source.. although we've been told by various people that Vardy, Slimani and Ulloa are all staying, probably Musa as well, we're trying to get Iheanacho, we've no reason to sell Oka, and we're about to get Iborra who can operate as a makeshift striker..... just seems a teeny bit excessive to me, what's that like 8 strikers? Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 4 July 2017 Share Posted 4 July 2017 I always thought a performing Deeney would really complement Vardy up top. Does no one think Troy can recapture his form and fitness? He ain't that old.
