Adrien Silva - Terms Agreed

All that matters is what we can now do and finding the most likely approach to appeal with. Once our approach is decided, If we are successful in appeal then all is well, if not it vital that our moral compass must remain strong, we must look after Adrien regardless of when his Leicester career can begin. Simply because it is the right thing to do.

Also some of the papers are anti Sporting so they will keen to paint them in a bad light. I think we are both to blame to be honest and Adrien is the one that suffers the most.

You are absolutely correct.

a bola are benfica's unofficial mouthpiece. Just to give you a glimpse of what they're capable of doing to protect those scarlet cvnts, during the winter transfer season a chinese club offered 45 million euros for Mitroglou, with 5% more to a chinese agent for mediation. benfica's president refused, then tried to push jorge mendes into the deal cutting off the other agent, and when that failed planted fake news that mitroglou was the one that had rejected the China move. This was their cover for that:

plantar1.jpg

Basically if says that the player said no to an 8 million deal (Like the Miz would say, really...?)

correio da manhã is a cheap tabloid, full of hacks that pretend to be journalists, and yet have the gall to fly camera drones over people's funerals, and run sexual assault videos on their tv channel. They lie, refuse to print retractions or apologise, and are vilified by everyone with more than 2 working synapses.

Sporting are always painted by these phonies as the villains in whatever happens around here:

-Adrien cannot play until January? It's Sporting's fault, they we're intransigent in their demands.

-William wasn't transfered? It's Sporting fault for wanting too much for him, and now the poor player will be depressed.

-An Italian Sporting and Fiorentina supporter was run over by a benfica supporter? It's Sporting's fault, our attitude has inflamed things in the last years. Besides, what was that guy doing there at that time?

-Sporting complains when benfica supporters throw pyrotechnics onto our fans, and when they glorify and provoque our supporters with chants and banners regarding another Sporting supporter murdered with a very light back in 96. benfica's answer is that that's a non-issue, and we're only pushing that because our president wants the spotlight.

EVERYTHING we accomplish is played down, like the fact that 10 of the 23 europeans champions are a product of our academy, plus an 11th player at the Euro 2016, Eric Dier. We got little to no recognition for that, in fact a lot of those players are still belittled in our press, while others, with obvious flaws and limitations, have their paltry successes practically enshrined in our newspapers.

I leave you this beautiful mosaic has an example:

Ce94yTjWQAAb1q9.jpg

Sporting, and our players, have to fight all this and more to get to where they deserve and belong. Adrien, for one, was the best midfielder for a year and a half before he became a regular in Portugal's 11. He was THE best box to box midfielder in our league in 2014, and was NOT called up to our world cup squad. William was THE best DM that year, in a position where we were clearly lacking in quality, stamina and talent. And while William was called, he only played on the last game, when we were already pretty much eliminated.

This (long) rant isn't to cast aside blame, or to imply that we're squeaky clean and it's someone else's fault. I still maintain that it was a very complicated situation, with 2 transfers trying to be completed between 3 clubs, and mistakes were bound to happen.

However, when you hear and read news reports from Portugal, expect them to shift the blame squarely onto Sporting. And that has nothing to do with LCFC, or with Adrien. It's all about Sporting, and our president Bruno de Carvalho, who's been a major thorn on the side of the established powers, and one they're desperate to remove.

Can we do anything with this song?........

"Its not a second...."

"Its 14 seconds too late ..."

"just as long as he stays..."

" he'll be waiting ...."

"We weren't a second

but 14 seconds away

and now Silva can't play

and we're still waiting

Easy to point fingers now but the facts are we played hardball over DD and once we had what we wanted we concluded the Silva deal ...   Nothing wrong so far ...   Indeed, the correct way to do business.  For whatever reason we sent the paperwork through on time but it was received 14 seconds late at the other end.  FIFA should apply common sense and all would be well ...    But they haven't because they are a complete bunch of useless cvnts.   And there lies the problem.   And they probably won't back down ...    For the same reason.

Sporting's full statement about the transfer (link: here)

I'll edit shortly with a translation of the details...

Edit: Sporting gets 20M€ fixed plus 5M€ in variables and Adrien renounced to bonus he was due from his latest contract renewal, as well as to a percentage of the transfer. The sum of that amount is about 4,5M€, and I don't know if you'll pay Adrien that money or not. To Sporting, you payed 20M€ fixed + 5M€ variable.

Sporting also states that the transfer is DONE, regardless of what happens with Adrien's inscrition in the Premier League, and that this delay has no effect on the total amount Sporting receives (only that the variable values can take longer to be achieved, which makes sense)

Did you see Silva on the pitch before January 'oh no'

We didn't had 14 seconds to go,
Rudkins thinks we got 14 seconds to go,
'Cos if you like Rudkin lemme know
Rudkins at it again,

wasting the doe
We didn't had 14 seconds to go,

Rudkins gotta go,
Did you see Silva in the deadline day list 'oh no'
Did you see silva on the pitch before January 'oh no'

well - here we are again.... we have previously has cause to discuss the quality of our legals... the owners really need to look at the structure and the quality.  IMO too many foot ball clubs are staffed by people from footballing backgrounds... in some places we need other skills.  I bet the chef went to food college...

Think on....... Rudkin is a qualified football coach, not a Captain of Industry or the like.

This is exactly what I said about 50 pages ago, most fans know it. But not the owners it seems.

If we missed a deadline that's fair enough. At the end of the day a deadline is a deadline and if it's changed slightly for us then others will expect the same treatment. What I don't understand is that if said deadline was missed, how can he be a city player. Surely that means the whole transfer would have collapsed. If he is a city player according to fifa/fa then does that not mean that we can go around signing players whilst the transfer window is closed and then just register them in Jan when the window opens?

Listening to Radio Leicester tonight, they had a journalist on who had been following this since the beginning. It looks like Adrien will be sitting on his backside til January collecting his wages, as our appeal will likely be rejected.

Can someone explain this international clearance stuff to me.

An EU citizen working for EU Company A agrees a move to EU Company B after A and B agree compensation for his services. If it's found we 'Submitted' the correct forms on time,  Under EU employment law can't we just force our FA to give him clearance and make them sort the mess with FIFA.

I think the fact it's an unprecedented thing works to it's advantage - creative solutions may find purchase despite FIFA's seeming intransigence. Leicester City needs to search far and wide for resolution before they're Leicester '14 seconds' City.

According to the former FIFA juryer interviewed today it isn't actually that unprecedented.

He also states that it's irrelevant when we submitted. It's the time that the FA asked for the IPC from FIFA that matters and that was late.

I do not use the twitter, but when bad things happen I see news companies reporting news stories with Tweets of Aethiests saying #prayforwhatever, so me being a none believer decided I'd be joining in at this sad time.

I totally get that a deadline is a deadline and rules are rules etc... BUT if the transfer was 23.00

The time was still 23.00... NOT 23.01 ... I really dont get the problem .. (even if secs was rounded it would still be 23.00)

Its just pathetic and tbh this whole shit has pissed me right off. !!!!

So it's on the FA, but perhaps ultimately us by having it so close to the wire?
