I’ve always admired José Mourinho.

Have a weird feeling he rocks up to manage us one day

Imagine the meltdown on the match day and post match threads given his negative tactics.

Good one for this thread actually, but I think a lot of that is down to manager and fan buy in and personality, more than their tactics and approach. Pearson wasn’t the most tactically gifted manager, but he was a natural leader that created a proper siege mentality and everybody brought in to that. Of course he found a way to win and turned things around to keep us up and set us up for the greatest season in our history, which also helped.

I think a lot of people had a pre formed opinion of Rodgers before he came here, they didn’t like him, and a lot of that came from stuff he said and did during his time at Liverpool. When Rodgers signed for us there were a few interesting comments, and of course he’ll have changed the opinion of a few, but a lot will use his tactics and approach to the game as a stick to beat him with because they just don’t like Brendan Rodgers the man. He gets a lot of personal insults which is weird considering he is, by association, one of us. I’ve seen “can’t stand the bloke” written on here.

Don’t want to turn this in to another Brendan debate, but just my 2 bobs worth.

Edit: the above is not a catch all. There will be plenty who have no opinion of him as a man and will rightly criticise based on what they see on the pitch, I get that, and understand it.

Mourinho and Simeone get pigeonholed as being ultra defensive but that's only because most people watch their teams in European competition or in big domestic games. Roma aren't playing like they did last night against Verona

Mourinho played very negatively at home to us last season. Tottenham also lost several points from sitting back. He was effective and will probably beat us next week but not for me generally.

I'm not saying they aren't defensive but a lot of people seem to think Mourinho has 10 men behind the ball most games which isn't true

I know we've already discussed how much whether people feel sorry for him or think he's a ****, but Le Tissier just gets worse and worse every week at the moment it seems.

Scary stuff.

I dismissed him at first after Pop Idol, (or whatever) but, Harry Styles from One Direction is actually a very good singer/song writer.

He's put out some great efforts tbh. Likewise The 1975 are great and at least try relatively interesting stuff for a band bang in the mainstream but your Radio X loving Definitely Maybe tattooed Spezial wearing lads will say it's music for fannies

Adverts on TV don't make me want to slit my throat

(okay some do as they're pure cringe, but the idea of adverts getting in the way of your programmes on TV doesn't bother me)

We're comfortable, we're feeling the pinch...which means it's beyond serious for the poorest. I can't get a private dental appointment, let alone anyone obtaining decent NHS provision. My ENT appointment has just be rescheduled for the SEVENTH time in two years. Anyone driving locally without 4x4 suspension or a dirt bike with massive suspension is going to lose bits of vehicle. Name it, it's got really shit.

I'm wondering how bad it has to get before the riots begin? I've had my middle class humorous sign ready for months now.

Hope Frankfurt and RB get to the Europa League final

I'm with you, to an extent. I really don't understand the idea of supporting other English/British teams in Europe.

However, I'm hoping for a Frankfurt vs Rangers final with Frankfurt winning the tournament. That's only because I wouldn't want Red Bull winning a European trophy.

I would posit that, judging by the contributions on the Champions League and Europa League threads, this is a popular opinion as opposed to an unpopular one.
