Imo he'd be better in a midfield 3 seems a bit weak physically. Certainly got the vision with his passing and movement.

Bloke hasn't played for 4 months and the only games he's had are 2 10 minute spells in the league and 3 games against league one opposition. He probably thought at half time today 'bloody hell this is a bit easy' and switched off - saw enough from him in the first half today to know he'll be decent IMO - love the way he'd played on the half turn and was so positive.

He’s excellent only thing he did wrong was get caught about 3 times which seemed very much a lack of competitive match sharpness.

I think he had a good game overall. Closed down well in the first half, got around the pitch and supported attacks. He did get caught in posession a few times, and had less influence in the second half, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and will put that down to a lack of competitive match fitness.

I don't think it helped that, as much as I like him, Iborra wasn't at his best today. If I'm remembering correctly, he wasn't giving an easy pass option as often as he usually does. At one point Silva was under pressure after receiving a pass, so turned into centre mid to find no one there and then ultimately lost the ball. I think that's when he chased back and slid to block the low cross. I don't remember what happened before that, so maybe Iborra had a reason to have been higher up the pitch.

I think the first half Silva will be the one we see more consistently through matches once he's completely up to speed though.

Classy player , good vision and forward passes.Got caught a couple of times but I think once fully tuned to English game will be an excellent signing alongside Ndidi.

Think he would get eaten alive in the prem at the moment. A few fancy flicks and the odd good pass, but needs too much time on the ball and is not strong enough yet..

Definitely a game of two halves. Looked classy first half, but very, very naive in the second half. Think he's still got a bit of a learning curve to go before he's ready for PL football.

Absolutely, his workrate and positivity were 1st class. He's the midfielder we've needed for a while. With Ndidi beside him doing the defensive duties, i think Silva with thrive playing a more creative role.

There are still Questions marks by his name to see if he can cut it in the premier league, I think he has what it takes to adapt, form is temporary, class is permanent!!

Silva has great quality - I reckon he’ll enjoy playing alongside Wilf...if he can force his way into the side! Amazing to think that a player if this quality is at the club, let alone trying to justify a starting place!

I note all the comments about him possibly being better in a three and whilst that's most possibly right, we're hardly going to change what is currently a successful winning system just to accommodate him. There are games that may cry out for a three but, until they arrive it's down to him to work hard and adapt to us! I don't think he's shy at working hard and it's early days after a long lay off. Puel does seem to be a manager who rewards form and effort over reputation and price paid which surely has to be right.

I get the feeling you are gagging for Silva to fail so you can tell us you 'I told you so'.  You were the first to write him off after one half at Fleetwood just like you trashed Kelechi before he even signed.  

 

He is a class player.  Captain of Sporting, international pedigree, European Champion, Champions League experience.  He will be great for us. 

 

You never used to be this bad but you are on your way to knocking somebum off his perch as the number one FT bottom feeder.
