mozartfox Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 Need to sort out the back line. If we gift this lot free hits, could be a demoralising spanking. 1-9-1 should do it.
Ric Flair Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 Not sure how you get a result against these. Trying to park the bus doesn't particularly work and we certainly have them a hammering last season but they're a different beast now. I think we have press their defence and be aggressive, a 4 nil headstart might just about get us a point.
sdb Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 They look unstoppable at the mo but our preferred system could be the best way to try and stop them, sitting deep and going on the counter. Can't see us getting anything. 1-3 I reckon. A draw would be a brilliant result.
Nalis Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 Even a narrow defeat with a good performance would be something. 2-3
sm1 Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 With the space they leave behind their fullbacks, Vardy will have a field day. Liverpool posed them plenty of problems before they had Mane sent off. The problem is their attack will destroy our defence. Lets hope they have an off day and we can scrape a draw or at worse a narrow defeat, 2-2 or 2-3.
st albans fox Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 If we don't actually turn up for the game it will be awarded to them 0-3. might be the best option ............
StriderHiryu Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 It's a bit too doom and gloom here! They are for sure the outstanding team in the division. Pep has the luxury of almost infinite resources, but credit where it's due, his decision to move Kevin De Bruyne into central midfield is a master stroke and he is dictating game after game. Their new full backs also give them a lot more dynamic capability. But that said our recent record against Man City is great, and had Mahrez not slipped over for his penalty at their place last year we would have got 4 out of 6 points against them for the second season in a row. Compared to most teams our ability to counter naturally makes us a tricky team for Man City to play. I'd expect a narrow loss by the odd goal. I think it will be like the other performances against big teams this year, we'll play OK and won't embarrass ourselves but won't ever really look like winning. It will be interesting to see how Puel lines us up. We could just go for the same formation and personnel against Stoke, but I wonder if he will try something else to counter their style completely?
The Doctor Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 With the pace in our team and the way we play we can get at them, but with the amount of stupid defensive play we've done this season they'll rip our backline to shreds.

Callabinho Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 Everyone is terrified of them, so we will have to show them no respect whatsoever. I think Pep is wary when he plays us, we always seem to give them a hard day at the office.
m4DD0gg Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 What ever the result hopefully they can take nacho back with them.
Guest Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 stop being a load of nannies. It's just a prem fixture. Leicester win 5-4 and our march to europe starts.
Edingleyfox Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 We are clearly not going to be able to defend for 90 minutes so surely we should go for it like we need in the first half hour against Everton. Once they are allowed to get going we will be in trouble. Remember last season and perhaps the international break will work in our favour.

Well posted!!! Many forgetting this Royal-blue club, has history when it comes to big clubs , oh we are just going to Leicester this weekend...We've put one over on all of 'em, strangely enough..never the Arsenal. If Chils is not fit, then Shinji should run his ass off along midfield, having the odd pop at Bruyne. Gray has proved he can defend, so Mahrez Vardy do what we did in the Title season, stay higher up the pitch any defence from these 2, only tracking back , or tackling in midfield. Could we be cocky, and play 3 at the back, pushing that extra man laying in front of them. Or put Amartey in that Chilwell position. If Chilwell is fit, go with the side we had against Everton, stop fearing what they might do, let them worry about us. Though we will need a tighter 2nd half, and not falling deep.
Stadt Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 They’re on course to be the best PL side ever, they’ve beaten more defensively accomplished sides than us and I really can’t see us competing unfortunately.
SheppyFox Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 Joking aside, sitting back against this quality gets you beaten. I think we should go toe to toe with them, press high up the pitch and gamble on their defence not expecting us to be gung ho

Like this reasoned assessment. Hope you're not far off the mark except for us winning by the odd goal of course. But we all want that.

MCFC Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 You're just about the most dangerous opponents we can play at the moment outside of United, Tottenham and Spurs. Why? Because, unlike Liverpool and Arsenal, you know how to defend for your lives. Morgan, on his day, is a beast and Maguire looks good too. Whatever my personal thoughts on Danny Simpson he's clearly a decent defender as well. Lots of teams can defend, though. What sets you apart from Southampton/West Brom etc is that you're actually dangerous in attack, when Vardy and Mahrez are in form. I watched the game against Stoke yesterday and felt they both wasted several opportunities to counter with poor decisions, but still looked scary with their pace and movement. RE Iheanacho, I personally feel you'd get more out of him if he could play a bit further forward- you saw against Leeds what kind of finish he's capable of. However, I don't need to tell you all that City this year are a different beast to the side you embarrassed 4-2 last season. We're far better at the back and less reliant on Kompany (second best defense in the league in fact) and are looking brilliant going forward. Personally, I like Puel and think Southampton were borderline moronic to let him go after he deserved to win them the EFL Cup. He's a good manager for me. On paper, City should win. But Leicester are very capable of shooting us down. That's all I'll say.
