I was about 15,my dad took me to the South Leicester WMC, now the Half Time Orange before a match at Filbert Street. It was an IPA and it didn't take much to make me merry.

Can't actually remember, which is a little sad. If we're not talking about cider down the park when you're 13, it was probably in the fox and hounds in Syston.

First legal beer was in the smugglers cove near Weymouth, can't remember the name but I think it was a badger beer.

I remember when i was about 13 ish and at a wedding and the waiters were bringing round free glasses of sherry for the guests. I had a few and it was not a good idea, i threw up.. Have not been able to touch the stuff since. :D

Not sure but I would hazard a guess it ended with me vomiting.

I grew up in Cosby and my favourite thing ever is the Blacksmiths that would serve us Fosters at 17 but that was all we were allowed lol Obviously we got wrecked, windows got smashed, i vommed everywhere etc. Good times.

I can't remember my first pint, but I can vividly recall the first time I got properly drunk.

Me and my mate Alex were staying at our friend Rob's house one Friday night while his parents were away. Me and Alex were 16 and Rob was 17 and had just passed his driving test.

The three of us walked the short distance from Rob's house in Lutterworth to the The Royale Oak in Bitteswell and proceeded to get pissed. We staggered back to Rob's late on and when we got back he went straight to bed. Alex passed out on the sofa - but I was still awake and staring at the keys to Rob's new green Vauxhall Chevette parked on the drive.

For reasons I still don't know to this day, I decided to take Rob's car out for a late night spin.

I drove a short distance to where they were building a new housing estate and obviously didn't have my lights on. I also realised afterwards that I had the choke out fully so it was revving like a bastard. Before I knew it I'd driven straight into a lampost and then managed to reverse it into a pile of breeze blocks. I guess nobody saw or heard anything because it was still mostly a building site.

I then decided to drive it back to Rob's house (god knows how the car still drove) parked it back on his drive, and let myself back in. Rob and Alex were both fast asleep and had no idea I'd been out. Not knowing what to do I eventually went to sleep and woke later to the sound of Rob screaming the house down as he looked out of his bedroom window to see his pride and joy in a crumpled heap on the driveway.

Well, I had to confess and I'm lucky he didn't kick the shit out of me as he was a big lad. The rest is a blur but I remember a conversation with both sets of parents and how lucky I was they didn't get the police involved.

My folks ended up paying a fortune (back then) to have the car restored to it's former glory and I paid them back weekly for what seemed like an eternity. Rob didn't really speak to me much after that.

Wow I shouldn't laugh. I would have probably either left the country or just pretend i had no idea what happened.

I'd had a few cans at home but I reckon my first pub pints were 4 pints of Everards Old Original and a pint of Beacon at The Globe in town when I was about 17.

Needless to say, I was battered. If I drank that now, a quarter of a century later, it wouldn't be any different

First beer in a drinking establishment. Aged 14. Lager. My Uncle bought me a pint in the Clubhouse at his Rugby Club after a midweek training session, because I’d “played a man’s game”, I could “have a man’s drink”.  One pint.  No effect. They were different days in 1985.

First beer bought from a shop. Aged 15. There was an iffy offy in Knighton who would sell to anyone.  We called the bloke who served us “Rasputin” as he was a bit hirsute.  “Scandia Green” lager. 40 pence a can.  Awful. Cheap. Nasty stuff.  Drank loads of it.

First decent beers.  The long defunct Wigston Magna WMC, aged 17. I had associate membership.  Pints of Mild. M&B, I think. My Dad bought them and put then on a shelf under the table and I supped when we thought the committee members weren’t looking, whilst we played bingo.   I maybe had three or four pints maximum, but was slurring slightly every Sunday afternoon.

Looking back, I get the impression my older male relatives couldn’t wait to get me drinking.  lol

First beers I bought myself in the pub with money I’d earned. 1988. Aged 17. The Storks Head on Welford Road.  Skol, I think. It was about 90p a pint.  Hägar the Horrible and all that...

Bloody hell,because it’s you ?

Well not as interesting,or quite as foolhardy, but when I was about 11 I got absolutely smashed without meaning to.

xmas day the family opposite ours used to have a small drinks party.

The bloke was a bit of a party animal and 1 knew how to hold a party and 2 knew how to make a potent punch, without anyone knowing it was until it was too late.

He made 2 punches.

one alcoholic and one non alcoholic.

i just got the two confused.

my dad had to carry me home,I spent the afternoon spewing my ring up and my head was banging.Xmas day ruined ?

I grew up in Narborough & the Bell was always pretty lenient about your age, but most of my mates lived in Enderby.

I don't think there was a single pub in Enderby that actually gave a shit how old you were.......The Nags, King Bill, the Havelock, Dog & Gun, the Plough, but our favourite was the New Inn.  It had a snug at the back that the landlord would let us drink in & we had the room to ourselves. We were regulars in there most nights by about 15 or 16 years old, drinking Tuborg & going school with hangovers (if we actually bothered going school).

I was 13 in Ventura County, CA on our only family vacation, ever, that wasn’t a drive to visit aunts and uncles.  My dad had dragged us to dinner at the home of an associate.

This fellow and his wife were both Germans, so they served plenty of wine to the kids, and she was gorgeous and fussed over me.  First time I ever felt a “glow” in a couple of senses.  Then we went into his backyard and looked down at the lights of LA.  Heady stuff for a kid who had never been west of Ohio.

Then the next day we went to Disneyland and I forgot all about that grown-up stuff … for a short while     ;)

First drink that I can remember was a can of Mackeson stout my dad let me have when I was about 8. First time I was drunk was in Corfu when I was 9. Mum and dad were called up to the stage to dance with a bunch of people, I drank a couple of bottles of naff wine with my brother and don't remember anything after that. No hangover at all, I get a hangover after 2 pints these days.

First pulled pint was probably Carling at The Shed, when I was 14 (they'd serve anyone who was over 5 foot tall)

First legal drink was Special Brew (!) at my 18th house party at a mate's flat, which we trashed. I've never drunk it again, absolutely disgusting stuff.

First legal pulled pint... no idea.

Ha, the New inn in enderby was my first pint too, it was a Carling Premier. I think I was with my brother and his mates.

Probably some Bass bitter shit that my dad drank back in the day (late 80s). I was aged about 15, in the Cherry Tree, Melton

I'm told my dad basically propped the Bell's bar up he was such a regular in the late 70's/very early 80's, so it must have been a reputable outpost!

Can’t remember my age but at the Stamford Arms in Groby where I’m sure the average punters age would have been about 17 at the time.

Legally in a pub, was my 18th and was probably Fosters in the Woodies. My dad came and bought me my first then went home. My mates carried me back and dropped me on his doorstep vomiting all down myself a few hours later. lol

First time I remember being drunk was at a house party of a friend of a friend on Western Road. Went and hustled booze from the offie by the Quay, got tanked on a bunch of sugary awful rubbish, including making a tequila, Baileys mess that curdled and still makes me feel sick thinking about it writing this.

Rough, rough night.
