Wymsey Posted 7 April 2018 Posted 7 April 2018 A bit early, but certainly one the of the most-important games for Puel imo. See this as a must-win really. Lose this and the current negativity will be much worse.. Would put Dragovic in instead of Morgan and start Okazaki.
themightyfin Posted 7 April 2018 Posted 7 April 2018 They will have a go at Us and fall right into our trap. 3-0 City. Everything forgotten from today and European dream lives on. 1
Webbo Posted 7 April 2018 Posted 7 April 2018 It's quite possible we'll win this and then some on here will say I told you so. 1 1
ScouseFox Posted 7 April 2018 Posted 7 April 2018 1-0 burnley. we couldn’t break down anyone these days. they don’t concede many. we can’t defend. when does this season finish. 1
sylofox Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Like some of our players I've thrown in the towel for this season. Now we've ****ed our chance will be like us to win.
sylofox Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 starting to think no one wants this 7th place. Burnley should have been well clear. Us Everton and Watford don't seem to care. Are the clubs thinking with the WC and a possible July start in the Europa it may not be a good thing. Is Europe the right thing for us next season?

I’ve never thought it a good idea at the moment - we don’t have the squad depth to play two sides in the group stages like arsenal did. Preparing for a thurs night game, coming back to training on a Saturday with a game Sunday - no time to plan for the Sunday fixture. Having to play qualifiers in July also screws up pre season planning. The risk of being in a relegation scrap far outweighs any financial benefits. If you qualify in sixth or as fa cup winners it’s a little different as you avoid the pre season rubbish. Would like us to have a traditional Austrian/uk pre season this time around with the WC players integrated back in as best as possible in time for the kick off proper.

Can I first say STALKER I take it you can't sleep either? The idea of Europe is great but the reality of it with a WC means some players will have played 2yrs solid by the end of next season. As you say it could cost the prem.
st albans fox Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 You weren’t concentrating in the match thread then Sylo - I’m in Shanghai where it’s 11am and very sunny !
Matt Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Atleast it's the national next week to stop the boredom.
shade Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 A well organised team who will get men behind the ball? I think I can see where this is heading...
lgfualol Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Lack of Ndidi means I cant see us winning. Our weaknesses like defending set pieces means Chris Wood will score after being unmarked at a corner. Burnley will then shut up shop and we'll proceed to cross the ball in from every angle with no-one taller than 6ft in the box Or we will win in a similar fashion. No Simpson please. Start Gray.
Fox92 Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 I do believe we're setup better to play away from home. It'll be tough, I don't know how many times they've lost at home this season but they know how to grind 1-0 wins out. They'll go in hard on certain players ie Mahrez, no doubt about it. Start Gray. Drop Albrighton.
Suzie the Fox Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 No N'didi.. No iborra. No James. So its going to be Silva and Choudhury again - both of which are not proven PL players as yet. Not wanting to be negative but Its going to be a tough call to get a win. 2
oxtonfox Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 3-1 Burnley. we have no leaders on the pitch that buy in to Puels methods. besides maguire and ndidi we appear to be a bunch of shrinking violets. e.g. the throw ins where there is no one making themselves available. i’d drop a load of them and play some of the U23s now after all season is done for.
Wymsey Posted 8 April 2018 Author Posted 8 April 2018 Have a feeling Chris Wood will be up for this. Seems an under-rated player, like some of their other players.
StriderHiryu Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Will be tough without Iborra or Ndidi. I think we will learn a lot from this game. If we get a reaction after defeat at home then we have the better players. Another poor performance and it would make me think the team isn’t buying into Puel / his philosophy and it’s Southampton all over again.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 (edited) was looking forward to this as we could have gone above them. Now I’m demoralised as a) I don’t see us winning and then they are 9 points ahead and b) even if we do it probably won’t matter. So annoyed at Puel for bottling 7th. Bayfox Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Pre match. Reckon the cricket could be the highlight of the day. Infact why bother with the football. We all know it has Chris wood winner written all over it 1
Harry - LCFC Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Win and we have a small chance of taking 7th still.
Guest Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Does it even matter? Personally I'd be playing the players that will be here next year or players that I want to see whether I'll keep them here next year - but I've been saying the same thing for several games now. GK Amartey/U23 RB Dragovic Maguire Chilwell Hamza Iborra if fit Sam Hughes if not Silva Diabaté Gray/Iheanacho Vardy bench To include Knight, Barnes and Thomas.
Hammo Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Win this and the bid for seventh spot stays alive. But judging by yesterday's performance I don't believe the players - or manager, or perhaps even the club as a whole - are really all that bothered about playing in the Europa League, especially with the two qualifying rounds in the summer upsetting post-World Cup pre-season preparations.
lestajigs Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Last chance saloon for 7th and Europe, would be amazed if we are NOT put out our misery against these
