fazzyfox Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 (edited) What Burnley are achieving this season is extremely impressive and I'm well aware that their CB's and defence overall are as much a part of it as the others but if our "special" players - Vardy and Mahrez are absolutely on it and get some decent service then we're still capable of winning there. We have to get those two more involved once again (Vardy is on a great scoring run but is still not utilised well enough) and go back to being more instinctive and playing off the cuff. The midfield is obviously a worry, I would consider Albrighton alongside Silva for his work rate and experience. At our best with what's left of our squad we can squeeze a 2-1, 12th man - your contribution will be vital, roar home those points (and a couple of Burnley suspensions would help moving onwards). 2-1 City Edited 8 April 2018 by fazzyfox
KFS Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Shittiest thing is if we win we're right back in it. If we won the next two and Burnley lost to Chelsea Thursday week, we'd be 7th.....
winteriscoming Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 I fear for us next week our lack of height with ndidi and Iborra being out is worrying. With barnes and wood up front for them and our defending or lack of it from corners and set pieces I think we'll lose. Hope I'm wrong.

Personally I'd be playing the players that will be here next year or players that I want to see whether I'll keep them here next year - but I've been saying the same thing for several games now. GK Amartey/U23 RB Dragovic Maguire Chilwell Hamza Iborra if fit Sam Hughes if not Silva Diabaté Gray/Iheanacho Vardy bench To include Knight, Barnes and Thomas. If we lose to Burnley, I agree as 9 points would be to much of a gap. I'd be looking at youngsters and giving them a run. No point in keeping with certain players if they're not going to feature / be in plans next season.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 They're playing well, we're not and I can't see us turning it around especially without Ndidi and Iborra. We're struggling in the middle of the park and we seem soft in defence and predictable in attack. Add in the fact that a lot of players have lost form and desire we just need this season to end. We're just making so many mistakes all over the park.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Will be a tough game Burnley are favourites but it wouldn’t surprise me to see City battle away and dig a result out like others have said we seem better set up away our home form is dreadful
Dan Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 (edited) We will lose. It's nailed on. It'll be like last year's game. Not much in it but they pinch it and end our season. I want to be optimistic but they will see what Newcastle did to us and do the same. Burnley aren't the kind of side who are scared to set up like an away side at home. With our lack of midfield for this game I just can't see logically how we're going to do it. We've won this fixture a couple of times in a big end of season game, we've turned up here when it's mattered most, but the most saddening thing for me is I just don't think we've got it in us anymore. We don't turn up to the occasions. 1-0 Burnley. It'll be Wood as well just to rub the salt in. Edited 8 April 2018 by Dan LCFC
Gazza M Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 I would play this game like it is our new beginning. If certain people aren't in next seasons plans, then they don't play. Kasper Johnson Dragovic Maguire Chilwell Choudhrey Silva Gray Albrighton Diabate Vardy Subs: Jakupovic, Morgan, Fuchs, Mahrez, Thomas, Okazaki, Iheanacho 1

If we do somehow go and win this, it's very possible we overtake them with the fixtures we both have. Although to be honest I can't see Chelsea winning at Burnley at the minute.
Stadt Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Ashley Barnes/Sam Vokes will avoid an obvious red card or handball then score. 1-0 Burnley.

We have no leaders..full stop!! 1
Livid Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Honestly can't see us winning another game all season. Our current form with remaining games against teams with top six quality or something to play for I just can't see it.
fuchsntf Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 We are gonna win, then beat Southampton. But lose out on 7th,in our last 2 games..shame.
Devonfox1884 Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 May as well try something different at this stage: Kasper Dragovic Morgan Maguire Albrighton Choudhury Silva Chilwell Mahrez Vardy Diabate/Gray 1
ithuriel Posted 8 April 2018 Posted 8 April 2018 Maybe we will be so tedious and boring their defence will doze off and we will score towards the end to win before the next bore fest at home see's them keeping seventh.
reynard Posted 9 April 2018 Posted 9 April 2018 We will need to play well and we haven't arguably done that since Southampton away. We're far too passive and negative at the moment, exactly the opposite to what will be required to beat Burnley who are having an excellent season and look nailed on to finish 7th. They concede very few and we create few chances. If we're still level at 80 minutes we have a chance as we seem to start playing then. If not an easy 2-0 to them.

FrankieADZ Posted 9 April 2018 Posted 9 April 2018 honestly given how weve played the past X amount of games, im going for a Burnley win, 2-0 to them and frankly they deserve to be 7th in the league, as on the whole theyve had a much better season that us imo
