lcfcsnow Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Seems he rejected Everton a few years ago. Have we gone back to Steve Walsh's old book of targets?

He did well at Lyon, one year had 8goals 8assists in 29 apps, he played regularly for Monaco too I think, been googling his Monaco stats aren’t as impressive but surely to regularly feature for them he must be half decent. The tweet is two years old.
TMELcfc Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 It seems fashionable nowadays, but any chance we could let him play a few games (or even actually join first) before we write him off?

It's really not peanuts. We probably can afford to spend about £20m net per season on transfers. Then we have his wage commitment for four or five years. That's why we end up getting stuck with players like Benalouane who cost the club about £14m over the period they're here. I don't particularly have a strong opinion on this signing but if we go into these sorts of signings without due diligence and thinking a few million is peanuts we'll pay for it long term. Act in haste repent at leisure.

lgfualol Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 All the Monaco fans I have seen say he is dogmuck. I am willing to give him a go but doubt he was anywhere near our top target.

WoodyFox Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Hahaha he’s so bad... I’d even go as far to say I’d have Gray in ahead of him
SheppyFox Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 I’m going to put my neck on the line and say he’ll be a success here. I love an underdog, like Puel too. I have a very specific memory of a conversation I had with a friend when we signed Vardy, “if he was any bloody good a big team would have had him when he was young! What a waste!” I raged. It taught me to love the underdog, and to see them play in our shirt before forming an opinion ?? 1

STUHILL Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Does anyone else get the feeling this is probably our 6th/7th choice target on our list of wingers this window...

Bin. that ship sailed, should have got him the same time we got Ndidi from Gent, really dont get the negativity around Ghezzal........lets be honest we arent going to pull a mega star in the prime of their career to come here. though I think any sort of signing would be a negative one for some of our fans at times can remember Kante getting a bit of an underwhelming response when he signed, would rather give this guy a chance before im going to judge him Edited 3 August 2018 by FrankieADZ 1
