There was talk pre-match with a local reporter who was going on about Notts being serious this season having spent £150k on a player. Must have been galling when we bring on two sub strikers that cost the best part of £40m !!

And that will be playing for our under 23 side or whatever the pl2 is next season unless we can move at least 1 of them on.:scarf:

Difficult to draw conclusions from a friendly but what the hell:

1. Mendy is rubbish

2. Madison looked OK(ish)

3. That Johnson bloke at RB actually looked quite good

4. My God we need a new striker

5. Diabate could be a good player for us

Disagree with most of that.

1. Hard to disagree with.

2. Maddison was the best player on the pitch.

3. Looked much more comfortable when he went to cb. A position I'm told he favours.

4. Vardy.

5. Needs to add end product same as gray.

Love people coming to conclusions about players based on a run about.

I won't be the only one that went to Mansfield in July 2015, it was 1-1. The highlight was a blonde police woman who looked lovely. We were shit. We needed a whole new team, apparently. Ranieri out before the clocks go back.

You can't read a thing into today, especially with so many lads still away.

Yep, I think you are right ...    and people seem to disagree about who was good and who wasn't ...    and when I asked Babs what he thought it turns out he fell asleep !! ...    oh well ...

james ain't going anywhere. King won't play here, if he wants to train & pick up a pay check then fine, but I'd have thought he'd want to be playing week in, week out.

If last season taught us anything it’s that shit happens. A couple of injuries and he starts picking up minutes. I actually think we need 5 cms for the season. But the only way that works is if you have someone comfortable being that guy, hopefully Kingy would still be okay with that role.

If he was that fussed about starting, he would have gone back to Swansea and I’m sure they would have taken him.

*id imagine James will need to go back out on loan after another lengthy lay off

Thought Darnell Johnson had a steady game at right back. Could he be the answer at right back as back up for Pereira who lets face it will most likely be our first choice.

Evans looked rusty thought he was beaten for pace a few times.

Hamza had a decent game and he puts himself about a bit.

Evans will be rusty as he's probably spent the summer playing Grand Theft  Auto but in real life!

Decent enough performance for our first friendly of the summer.

What I want to know is why the majority of the stand wanted to sit down- what was that all about?! People of all ages, no intention of standing (apart from half time, when everyone stood)- bizarre.

I think KIng could be the sub for Maddison as he plays closer to the strikers than the other midfielders you mention.

Yep he has huge potential, love him.. good thing about Puel he will give young talent that deserves it a chance, Mourinho gives them no chance

Yep, he's got his faults but promoting youth is something he's got spot on.

I thought it was as well but wasn’t sure. Looked a lot bigger in real life than what I’ve seen of him before.

Interesting because he didn't look that big watching on my mobile In tenerife (home now hence stupid o'clock post)

Young black lad, probably mixed race actually.

One who did look big was Callum elder. Lots to look forward to for the future in that game I reckon.
