Did I miss the news where he was recalled or is Stringer reaching even more than usual here?

Nah he reckons we've recalled him on the quiet without West Brom or Barnes saying anything.

I can't find a single thing to say that he's been recalled.

I wonder what stringer is on about.

Has he been recalled today ????

Is it a partial or total recall?

I am sure I read West Brom recalled someone from Walsall to play in the cup only??   Probably the JD kicking in.

Has he been recalled yet or has he gone into hiding and switched his I-Phone off?

How can we not get him back now??

We've got nothing to lose this season now. Get him back and develop him... relies on our fans actually giving him a chance and not slagging him off at the first thing he does wrong though

Probably for the same reason Chelsea can't get one of their players back until the 14th. The recall clause can't be activated just yet.

There is nothing to suggest the clause is available to activate the second the window opens.

I keep seeing you say this but no idea where you've got it from. Abraham has to be recalled by the 14th, not after.

Yeah that's it, it's all Puel's fault. We have no idea what the contract actually says, whether there is a specific date the recall option becomes active etc.

There was an article about a Chelsea player the other day and his contract stipulated that the recall became active on the 14th.

I have no idea what the contractual complexities are. However it feels like a no-brainer for any side that has a quality goalscorer but is struggling for goals because its creative play is lacklustre, and has the right to recall a creative, attacking midfielder who - if they didn't own him already - would be exactly the type of player they'd want to sign.

It's a shame he might not get the chance to continue his form at Brom, and a shame that he's going to have to take the next step sooner than we'd have liked. For that we have to blame the likes of Gray, Ghezzal, even Maddison and Diabate, for not having been more creative over the past 6, 7, 8 games. For all their wild long range shots, poorly taken set pieces, all the dallying on the ball, the fragility in possession, and so on.

But if we don't recall him, it kind of implies that Puel isn't especially looking for more from his creative players, and that, therefore, he thinks we're being sufficiently creative already. Or that Barnes wouldn't have it any easier than Maddison, Gray et al. If that's the case, the questions about the effectiveness of our build-up play will mount up - in other words, if the players aren't the cause of our lack of attacking threat, what is?

Does anybody else on here fear that if Barnes is recalled he will have a massive weight of expectation on his shoulders that perhaps he won’t have if we leave him there until the summer?

If if he comes back and doesn’t have he greatest of games for a few games then it might knock his confidence/fans write him off.

I think fans writing him off goes with the territory .

He cannot perform worse than what we have witnessed today.  He will be fine.  Rather we recall the loanees than waste money in this window.
