If he's not a better option than those two I'd be gobsmacked!..

Gray has been given enough chances and pitch time to prove himself.. He hasn't taken his opportunities and has made little or no progress.

Ghezzal is..... to be kind,  just poor!

Can't see why we're fannying around?.. Should have recalled him on 1st January,  could have played against Newport and he might just have got us through!

I asked why we hadn't already recalled him, especially in light of 'please don't cup tie him' (that worked out well.) I was told in no uncertain terms by those ITK that as one Chelsea player once had a loan date of 15th January, we weren't qualified to ask the ' why are we fannying around' question of the beloved Claude.

Too many Midfielders I was told (Iborra now gone, Silva in the Mahrez departure lounge, King and James the freeloading guests at a party who just won't go home).

Guess we'll leave it 14 seconds too late.

I am looking at the risks, it’s a big decision and it could set back his development. Barnes is doing very well at the moment and any decision that will impact his progress needs to be a considered one. That includes looking at the possible negative outcomes. Including the impact on the rest of the squad.

Of course it could be a success, but I just see so many other questions that we need to answer and at the moment Barnes is doing fantastic in the Championship so to recall needs to be with a purpose and a plan and not just desperation.

There other options to improve our current attacking options. Imagine we signed a good young talent on loan for the rest of the season and leave Barnes at West Brom. Tammy Abraham has just gone to Wolves, Hudson-Odoi seems to be available for the money we wasted on Slimani, someone like that young promising and realistically within our reach. We loan someone young and promising until the end of the season. If it works we can then potentially add this person and Barnes to our squad further increasing our options.

Anyway lets wait on Claude, if he does get recalled how are you having us line up?

We dont bring players in on loan we cant sign permanently, we've gone on record saying so. We still need a new right winger as well though so by all means get in Chukwuese/Brais Mendes/Olmo/Omur and then Barnes comes back in the summer to compete on the left.

This is building up...to taking a Silva type of fall.....This forum is putting too much anticipation and expectation on Barnes!!

we don't "need"  him this rest of the season, unless Puel want to have some free hits, trying formation variants with him playing along

different players,or with/without Maddison/Vardy/etc.. Or trying now to build a Barnes-Maddison pairing /relationship !!!

Tanner seems to think we wont recall him now, how that conclusion has come after a shocking team performance vs Newport is beyond me.

Could be that he was probably going to start in cup matches and be on the bench in the league hence asking them not to play him in it.

Puel doesn't do himself any favours does he!

Surely not, Puel said he would only call him back if it were for him to improve our effectiveness in the final third, for once it was positive stuff from Puel. Maybe Barnes has told him to fcuk off hahahaa.

He’s got a unique goal celebration technique. I’m ‘semi’ worried he’s getting a bit ‘cocky’.

He was probably being pulled off at halftime!

Never gonna happen. We can't technically sign him 14 seconds after the deadline, so he can't play for anyone for 6 months, and ruin him.

We'll miss ,cancelling the loan by 14 secs, ruining Claudes dreams!!!,  OR cancel the loan with 14secs to go and we find a saviour, breaks his leg

at the eos, joins James on massage table..!!

Of course Claude Puel doesnt want to recall him.

He knows he's got goals in him and a attacking threat.

Something this deluded manager does not like. I know he won't get sacked but buckle in lads because the 2nd half of this season is going to be ****ing dreadful

to be honest Puels team selections say to me we are an attacking team and never have I thought oh that looks a defensive side, I think its more the players not gelling properly as of yet and young players learning the trade
