We think football fans on forums are bad enough, football fan twitter is another level of shit.
Stinkenzo Posted 28 December 2019 Share Posted 28 December 2019 Don't worry, in a few months time a fan will be pictured celebrating a goal with his finger coincidentally pointing towards the shining sun and that person will make that fanbase the scummiest fans ever in the world to be seen ever anywhere on the planet for life ever

Popular Post davieG Posted 29 December 2019 Popular Post Share Posted 29 December 2019 West Ham can only dream of being like Leicester as miserable decade ends with Pellegrini sacking The East Midlands club have produced the blueprint for mid-sized clubs to follow but West Ham feel so far away ByAlan Smith 08:00, 29 DEC 2019 It was quite fitting that West Ham United’s final game of a decade in which they strove, and failed, to reach the next level came against the club that embodies what they aspire to be. For all the spending, the contentious stadium move and a carousel of managers that can only seem to do well for brief spells before entering a dramatic tailspin, the Hammers end the 2010s in a familiar state of crisis. They will enter the 2020s searching for a new manager after the club swiftly wielded the axe on Manuel Pellegrini’s largely dismal 18-month reign following Saturday evening’s 2-1 defeat to the Foxes. Cutting the Chilean adrift had seemed inevitable in recent weeks but how must supporters have felt seeing their team outplayed by a club sitting second in the Premier League that has become the template for those looking to upset the traditional big six? It is also a decade next month since David Sullivan and David Gold bought a controlling share in West Ham and the joint-chairmen promised to take the East End on tour in the Champions League. It has not quite worked out that way. Yet, anyway. In the meantime they have seen Leicester, who started the decade just out of the third tier, win the most unlikely of Premier League titles but, more importantly going forward, deliver the blueprint for mid-sized clubs to consistently challenge the best. Entering the 20s it is clear that the East Midlands club are what West Ham - and others of a similar size such as Everton - have long dreamt of becoming. Brendan Rodgers’s team, mostly unrecognisable from the side that won the league in 2016, arrived at the London Stadium as the nearest challengers to runaway leaders Liverpool and destined for a return to the Champions League. They reached the knockout stages of the continent's premier competitions three seasons ago and that squad has been renewed to challenge the very best yet again thanks to an astute transfer structure. West Ham’s European pedigree in the past 10 years, by contrast, extends to being knocked out in the Europa League qualifying rounds by the mighty Astra Giurgiu - twice. And yet West Ham are the ones who have spent in excess of £430million on players (£230million net), while few of the 56 arrivals that cost fees have enjoyed more than a fleeting spell of success. Even the recent initial hits - Marko Arnautovic, Dimitri Payet - have departed on sour notes and it is more than a coincidence that a sizeable reason for the mire the club currently finds itself in is poor recruitment. Leicester, on the other hand, buy smartly and rarely pay over the odds. They have also cashed in on selling the likes of Harry Maguire for massive sums without disrupting the collective too much. This is not to say Leicester have been a model club throughout the decade either. Remember the ruthless manner in which Claudio Ranieri and Claude Puel were both sacked? However, in an industry full to the brim with guesswork they have got most of the big decisions right. It is a template that West Ham, after taking care of the short-term priority of not being relegated, should do their best to follow if they are to really achieve the vision dreamt up by Sullivan and Gold in January 2010. At this very moment, however, the problem is the gap has never felt so big. https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/west-ham-dream-leicester-pellegrini-17484240 4

It's bizarre, they praise us for building a sustained challenge then chastise us for not knowing our place and accepting long spells of declining performances. Pick one. Tuna Posted 29 December 2019 Share Posted 29 December 2019 Yeah not sure why they mentioned ruthless sacking as if every other club doesn't do it.
Stadt Posted 29 December 2019 Share Posted 29 December 2019 We brutally sacked Puel? Our form was horrendous and he had to go. Once a narrative sets in the actual facts don’t matter
Corky Posted 29 December 2019 Share Posted 29 December 2019 The sacking of Nigel Pearson was harsher than Puel's. Let's not forget he felt out with the squad and staff- it doesn't matter what we think as fans, if the players aren't on your side you've got no chance. The Ranieri thing has been done to death but anyone thinking Puel was sacked incorrectly is deluded.

Uranyl Yellow Posted 29 December 2019 Share Posted 29 December 2019 Indeed. So brutal. Ne'er even a wheelbarrow provided to bear the weight of all that compensation cash, or muffs to shield his delicate French orielles from the bad accent banter.

Perhaps but he was not sacked for footballing reasons so it’s not really comparable. Claudio will always be the legend that won us the league but we were looking like relegation fodder despite our CL exploits. Shakes great assistant but couldn’t cut it tactically and Puel did a great job in transitioning the squad but the football was boring and he had obviously lost the trust of the staff and players. Any sacking is “cruel” and believe me I have had to do it on occasion and it’s never pleasant but these guys, Pearson apart, were no longer performing in a results business so had to go for the long term good of the club. pearson had to go for reasons we are all aware of and was probably a harder decision as not related to results. car1os Posted 29 December 2019 Share Posted 29 December 2019 (edited) 10 years ago we were not the same “size of club” as West Ham or Everton. The fact that we are now arguably more of a draw for players and managers than these teams shows our progress. Cant wait to see how much more progress we make in the next decade!
