The "do they mean us?" thread pt 2

Recommended Posts

I could see the "big six" in England supporting this as they would never be affected by it but it hinders clubs like ours because our season starts early and gives us a disadvantage of getting a foothold in the CL places mid term.

As @Hammo say in his post above the CL should be a meritocracy I've only just noticed that the last 16 all come from Europe's big five leagues which isn't good for the diversity of the competition. This is just big dominant clubs in the smaller leagues trying to protect their interests as they get leapfrogged by traditionally smaller clubs in big leagues. I can see their point but don't believe it's fair we could finish second this season and still have to qualify whilst a more prestigious club could finish 20pts behind us and get straight into the second seeds in the group draw.

It's another form of keeping clubs like ours in our place by not keeping the sport a meritocracy.

There should be 3 main European competitions....

Champions cup.

Old school format, all the winners of the European leagues are drew out a not (no seeding) in a two legged knock out.

Cup winners cup.

Same lay out to the champions cup with all the FA cup winners from each league.

Euro league.

Basically your standard champions league format with the league cup winners and your 2nd, 3rd placed teams. Essentially your money making completion that's going to have the greater amount of "big teams" in it.

Unfortunately too much lost revenue with this system.

Plus the Audi Cup Winners to ensure Spuds get a game in Europe.

Overall it's fairer, but it shifts the shortfall somewhere else.

More countries should be represented in the Champions League, but if Leicester finish above the so called top European sides, haven't they earned the right to be in the group stage?

I'd go back to the old system in which 4th place has to enter the qualifiers, which frees up more automatic berths for other leagues.

What was the clue?

If you've never seen the show, this will make no sense. lol

"Which video game character in the Tomb Raider series travels the world looking for ancient relics?"

Or something like that.

I have seen the show (many times) and that still makes no sense :D

Assuming it's the round where the 2 answers have the same initials?

We were an answer on Richard Osman's House of Games tonight. Twice if you count Ellie Taylor's incorrect clue lol

We are MASSIVE!

Been an answer a few times on it actually. I can't remember the questions though, as they are so random.

Didn't warrant its own thread, but is this our lot going over to see Wasyl? He's hashtagged LCFC.

Everton are due to host Leicester City at Goodison Park on April 6 as the Foxes continue to try to close the gap on Manchester City. However, Blues fans are loving the news that Leicester haven’t been able to sell enough tickets for the match…

Everton Fan Services announced yesterday that Leicester will not be requiring the use of the Upper Tier in the away end, and the Evertonians can’t stop bantering the away fans.

The Foxes started the 2019/20 in superb form, hoping to be the side to challenge Liverpool for the title as Man City looked uncharacteristically off-form.

Despite the title race being almost dead and buried, Leicester still look in pretty good stead to finish in the top four and secure Champions League football. But they can’t afford any major slip-ups, with just ten points between them and eighth place Sheffield United (BBC Sport).

Leicester of course enjoyed being crowned Premier League champions back in the 2015/16 season, but haven’t really looked like a title-challenging side since.

Toffees are running amok with jokes and jibes regarding what looks to be a poor turnout of Foxes fans in April, with many Everton supporters branding the club an ’embarrassment’.
