Publis would play a centre half at left wing if he could.

I just remember a United fan telling me he was poor on the left side and it wasn't til he was on the right side he was decent and Evans said so.

In fact I now find this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2136195/Jonny-Evans-feels-happier-playing-right-Manchester-Uniteds-defence.html

Think he was fine second half, started atrociously but we were all over the shop defensively to begin with.

I stand corrected. He wasn’t as bad second half but he wasn’t tested nearly as much. Needs to be better next game that’s for sure.

I remember Walshie taking out a player in one of the playoff finals.  Took the ball first, followed by the player and then some.

Shrug of the shoulders and get on with it.  No cards given.

How the game has changed.  Today's red wasn't even for a challenge on the ball!

The game is becoming too soft.

That was against Palace, the guy screamed as Walsh went through him. I agree

that the game is becoming too soft but players have to abide by what is currently

acceptable and Vardy slightly crossed the line.

Phil Neville is a numpty. "More than lucky" eh Phil? Weren't saying that about Man Utd last week, too busy tossing off Pogba's "dominant" performance where he scored a penalty after a jammy deflected handball, spent the entire first half crying to the ref while N'didi and Silva ran rings round him while his chum Fred was kicking people off the ball (MOTD 'definite red' when Kennedy does it, clip lost in the edit when its a Man U player).

I don’t think that footage really represented the game. Wolves were good in the first twenty and deserved to score but after they conceded they rarely threatened and they didn’t show some of our good play.

Conceded: 0. Improvement from last season.

In the first half Evans was a car crash. I couldn’t understand him playing on the right hand side of the two centre halves. He’s left footed.

Second half he improved but wasn’t particularly tested. Wes’ legs are no doubt going, but I don’t remember him ever being beaten twice so easily by a player simply knocking it past him and running into our box in the same half.

Was it his car that he crashed or the taxi that he took?

Eh, they created 1 real chance (the ball Chilwell cleared off the line), everyone saying "but they hit the post 3 times", sure, but they could have just as easily gone over the crossbar rather than under it. They had 2 shots on target from inside the box, didn't really create much at all.

Disappointing from Vardy as it was unnecessary. We all know football is soft now but like others have said, the players have to abide by the current rules. I personally would not have appreciated being on the end of that challenge. The only thing that annoys me though is the inconsistency among refs with challenges like this. Pickfords challenge on Ings was just as dangerous and not even a yellow!

Add Harry Arter to that as well!

The only team that should be worried is Wolves, for the second week in a row they’ve failed to beat 10 men... they’ve spent a lot of money but a few pot shots doesn’t make you a decent side. They passed the ball sideways a lot and did little with it in the final third... we did enough to win the game and in time we will look like a decent team, Wolves will not finish anywhere near he top 6, they’re not clinical enough.

Eh, how often during the title season did we voluntarily give away crossing positions knowing we'd deal with it. Let's be fair, Chilwells goal line clearance aside they didn't manage more than long shots. Pretty close long shots but they created very few openings

just watched us on motd. no way vardy should get a red card for that he got the ball first and then they both tangled legs. i would accept it if he got a yellow because it looked quite bad at full speed which is why i imagine he gave a red. can u appeal against red cards?

Agree. Not certain about Arter though. But Pickford even flicked his foot at the end of his challenge. Vardy probably deserved red but there will be worse challenges this season that will go unpunished I expect.

A finely taken shit house win over this seasons media favourites. About time we won some games ugly to be honest, sick of dominating games and getting nothing from them. Wolves are okay, they’re quite good actually, but they’ll have a very sudden realisation should they think they’re just going to stroll to the top half. There’s a lot of (on paper) good teams in this division that will struggle, as to be honest the division is all a bit of a much of a muchness, and really we’re only a couple of injuries away from being one of them.

I like the look of what Puel is doing at the moment, he’s looking to play more expansive football and solidify us at the back, he’s recognised the problems and you can’t say fairer than that. His hands were tied with the squad he had last season, but we’ll be alright this year. Onwards and upwards!

I can’t believe there are people saying Vardy deserved that red. Went in hard and clearly got the ball. The players tangled after. If anything there player has got nowhere near the ball and tangled with Vardy.

If we hit the woodwork 3 times and didn't score we'd be bemoaning how unlucky we were. We started the game poorly but it fairly straight forward once we rode the storm.

Damn right we would. But I'd hope we'd also be critical of the fact we barely had a shot from inside the box as well. They're definitely better than the standard newly promoted side, for sure. Need a few more additions though.

Slightly worrying that we had an average possession of 2% when we won the league.
