Steve Earle Posted 26 August 2018 Posted 26 August 2018 Several posters have Iheanacho & Okazaki in the team. There’s just no way both can play when we face Liverpool on Saturday without Vardy. At best, they share 90 minutes IMO
bpfox Posted 27 August 2018 Posted 27 August 2018 would love to see him try a different system, and this is just out of left field. ward soyuncu ( if fit) evans benkovic ghezzal choudhury silva allbrighton ibbora okazaki diabate i know some will jump on this but ibborra is great shielding the ball and has a great pass, we have plenty of cover and great options going forward. 1

Would rather rest Maddison and start both. Players should be capable of playing twice a week anyway.
MC Prussian Posted 27 August 2018 Posted 27 August 2018 (edited) Opportunity for some of the fringe players to shine: Ward Simpson Benkovic Söyüncü Fuchs Silva Iborra Diabaté/Ghezzal Ghezzal/Okazaki Kapustka Okazaki/Iheanacho Edited 27 August 2018 by MC Prussian

Has he made a quick recovery? Would also be disappointed if Johnson, Choudhury and even King don't make an appearance.

Curious to see how he does Really needs to shine in games like this if he wants to force his way into the starting 11. Wouldn't mind seeing Benkovic too Definitly want to see Ghezzal bag a goal or assist. An inform, confident AM would do us the world of good.

Well, a ruptured muscle usually heals within a few days, with a full recovery possible after a couple of weeks. Seeing that he suffered the injury four weeks ago, it's not unthinkable. If he can't make it, then it's possibly Benkovic and Benalouane, two players in need of match action before being moved on (on loan and on a permanent basis respectively).

He could make an appearance for half a game. But I suspect the delay is as much about getting his fitness up to Prem level as it is about the injury. It should be an interesting lineup either way. I expect to see Silva Iborra and Choudhury play with Ghezzel and Kelechi up front.
foxinsocks Posted 27 August 2018 Posted 27 August 2018 (edited) Sorry if this has been covered.. whats the situation with the cup scheme? Edited 27 August 2018 by foxinsocks

Left wingback position could get him struggle moreover the opposite sides Even chilwell who are natural left wingback might struggle to play at the opposite sides Mahrez never played wingback

lcfc sheff Posted 27 August 2018 Posted 27 August 2018 Such a strong squad to go far in the cups now. a midfield of silva, Iborra and choudhury is pretty special for our second team
Ian Nacho Posted 27 August 2018 Posted 27 August 2018 Ward, Albrighton, Benkovic, Johnson, Evans, Fuchs, Silva, Iborra, Choudhury, Okazaki, Iheanacho.
Spicer Posted 27 August 2018 Posted 27 August 2018 I want to control a match for once against lower league opposition. 3 in midfield Ward Albrighton Benkovic Evans Fuchs Choudary Iborra Silva Ghezzal Okazaki Diabate Subs: Jakupovic, Elder, Johnson, King, Kapustka, Nacho, Gray
Gerard Posted 27 August 2018 Posted 27 August 2018 It will be interesting to see if Simpson or King are in the 18 man squad as both have been told to find new clubs and with a few days left of the transfer window neither looks like going. I wonder if they will be allowed back in the fold or frozen out? 1
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 27 August 2018 Posted 27 August 2018 Excited to see what the line up is for this game although Puel will spring a few surprises as always bless him
UPinCarolina Posted 27 August 2018 Posted 27 August 2018 (edited) I know that these are a League One side, but they are on quite the roll in terms of results. Won't be easy, IMO. Edited 27 August 2018 by UPinCarolina
Duncan_K Posted 27 August 2018 Posted 27 August 2018 The only players i would worry about being over-played is any that are away for international duty after the Liverpool game. So if Southgate tells Puel that Maddison, Gray and Chilwell will be joining Maguire in the squad then i would rest them but otherwise all three of those in the match day squad. If anyone is carrying an injury then don't play them but otherwise try to get some continuity while giving some game time to those where it's a tighter call. Ward Amartey Morgan Evans Chilwell Chowdery Iborra Ghezzal Maddison Albrighton Iheanacho Subs: Jakupovic, Pereira, Bencovic, Silva, Diabate, Okazaki, Gray
