this just gets the player more money and us, greater justification for a larger fee if he decides he wants to leave and we are prepared to allow a move .....

If so, hardly anything to get excited about. Probably a bumper pay rise and an extra year to make it appear he seriously plans on playing for us that long

Exactly - it’s better than reading that’s he wants a move!  he knows we won’t sell until we want to so he may as well take the money

 

would like to see him move to the county from Sheffield. He doesn’t have the type of commitments that keep players in areas (like kids in schools) so if he stays up north then I wonder about his actual long term commitment .............

Or maybe rewarded and quite rightly so for showing what an outstanding player he is for us. 

If you excel at work then a pay rise Is justified to show you your work has not gone unnoticed.

Great news. We’ve not got our 4 biggest players tied down to long term contracts. So if anyone wants them they’re gonna have to pay absolute mega money, or we keep them. I do think that someone will pay the mega money for Maguire and later on N’Didi but they’ll not be going anywhere for this season and at least next I would say.

Great news but missed opportunity on the video - no slab head references! They should have had Maguire inspecting some concrete slabs or playing Super Mario with him bashing bricks with his head or something .

 

But seriously this is brilliant by the club. I do still suspect he’ll go to Man United next summer but this means Van Dijk levels of transfer fee if so. 

 

Vardy, Ndidi, Maguire, Kasper all signed up!!! That’s the spine of our team so brilliant work to all those involved. Onwards and upwards!!!

Doing exactly the right thing in getting the players on deals that means we hold the cards in terms of transfers. Given the players are happy to sign, they must be very good at selling it.

Great move!  I think he will stay for another season after this one.  Hopefully we can gradually build a team challenging for the top again which will make him want to stay indefinitely.
