ClaphamFox Posted 17 September 2018 Posted 17 September 2018 (edited) It's interesting to see so many people wanting to rush Soyuncu into the team. He played for the under-23s yesterday and was apparently awful - nowhere near close to the first team yet. Edited 17 September 2018 by ClaphamFox 1

I wouldn't say he was awful, started off a bit slow but got into the game and looked very comfortable without doing anything wonderful or bad I guess also playing academy football may not get him mentally up for it plenty of 1st team players have looked worse but perform when the real games come but only the coaches will know if he's ready 2

I actually think it should be Evans and Maguire next week anyway. We can't write off a CB with over 300 Premier League appearances after 1 game for us! Puel isn't going to change his formation. He will try to make it work no matter what, so I expect him to go with Amartey at RB with Ricardo infront of him and Maguire and Evans together with Chilwell keeping his place. We should still have enough to beat Huddersfield, but I still think it will only be painting over the cracks in his system. 1

Kasper Ricardo Maguire Evans Chilwell Mendy Silva Ghezzal Maddison Albrighton Vardy Whats Silva ever done in a Leicester shirt? he's deservedly not featuring right now, and I suspect will be farmed back out to Sporting either in Jan or the summer, Just not worked out for the lad here Edited 17 September 2018 by jonny_wright
NewquayFox Posted 17 September 2018 Posted 17 September 2018 Kasper Amartey Evans Maguire Chilwell Periera Ndidi Mendy Maddison Iheanacho Vardy
Gazza M Posted 17 September 2018 Posted 17 September 2018 If we are going to carry on with full backs going forwards so much, we need runners in central midfield prepared to chase out wide if required to cover the gaps and to stop counter attacks. I would look at: Kasper Ricardo Evans Maguire Chilwell Albrighton Ndidi Mendy Maddison Vardy Iheanacho Subs: Ward, Soyuncu, Fuchs, Gray, Silva, Ghezzal, Okazaki.
Popular Post Bert Posted 17 September 2018 Popular Post Posted 17 September 2018 Let’s see it freshened up a bit. Kasper Soyuncu Evans Maguire Ricardo N’Didi Silva Chilwell Maddison Vardy Iheanacho 9

Did any players from the "big 6" play as much as him? Seems mental. X I didnt understand your question. Please explain a bit. Thank you 1 hour ago, MattP said: Off the top of my head - Lukaku, Pogba etc at Man U have. Walker and Stones at City was back the week before him for the Charity Shield. Not sure if he's tired or just out of form. He looked fine against Wolves and Southampton. Those you mentioned, all have some rest. Nobody played 450 mins as maguire. Only pogba come close at 443 About he seems playing well, it's common. Not every time. Everything is shown. When the fitness start to take tolls it can come at surpriese. We got it near the end of 2015/2016 season. Player who got injured near the end of season is Morgan, huth, drinkwater. The first 2 is aging and play every week. Morgan only comeback for 80 minutes before injured again. The next season huth never comeback, Morgan got bit long term injury after just half season with normal tackle. Forcing maguire to play all match without giving some rest will not only risk some concentration lapses but also some time of future injury 2 Edited 17 September 2018 by Hanan96

Shane Posted 17 September 2018 Posted 17 September 2018 (edited) Schmeichel Soyuncu, Evans, Maguire Pereira, Maddison, Ndidi, Chilwell Ghezzal, Vardy, Albrighton Time to try 3 at the back. Imo Huddersfield will be parking the bus so I think we can get away with Maddison playing deeper and linking the play. Harsh on Mendy but against parked buses we don’t need 2 CDM’s in a 3 at the back system. Edited 17 September 2018 by Shane
Fox92 Posted 17 September 2018 Posted 17 September 2018 2-0 win. Huddersfield will sit and try for a point. Attacking full backs in this game should actually be the option. I'd like to see two up front.

desertfox2 Posted 17 September 2018 Posted 17 September 2018 They look like they are going to get relegated how they have been playing. Not going to say must win, it's a game we have to be winning if we are going anywhere.

Only we could turn down 60 odd million for Maguire, give Wes a new deal, sign Jonny Evans for a bargain price, spend over 30 million on two other central defenders and still end up with Amartey in the middle of a back four by the end of September.
STUHILL Posted 17 September 2018 Posted 17 September 2018 (edited) If we set up the same way and Wagner has viewed our last game, then we could struggle again. Howe recognised that we had very attacking fullbacks and relied on N'didi and Mendy to sit and support the 2 CB's when our fullbacks bombed forward. Once Bournmouth won possession, which was often the case due to us being sloppy, Howe had his team bypass Mendy and N'didi who had pushed further up, and so exposing our two slow CB's to a fast attack, with space to run into and split them due to our fullbacks out of position. It really was basic stuff and if Puel doesn't correct it for next week, then we will again be vulnerable at the back even for a team like Huddersfield. Bournemouth didn't even have to play well to go 4-0 up against us. They just played a simple game plan. I expect Puel to change things, but not the system unfortunately. He will draft in Amartey again and push Periera in front of him and also bring Albrighton in ahead of Gray or again push Chilwell up ahead of an incoming Fuchs at LB. It's papering over cracks in the system though and not the way I would do it. Add to the fact that Vardy is struggling as the loan striker with slow build up play, and it makes no sense not to switch formations and partner him with Iheanacho and have wing backs, with Maguire in a 3 at the back which also transforms him into a much better defender and play maker I dare say as he was for England! FoxFossil Posted 17 September 2018 Posted 17 September 2018 Should play Soyuncu with Benny and Armartey (RB) and Elder or Fuchs (LB) in an experimental back four. Could they be any worse than our defence against a bunch of Cherries?
Dan Posted 17 September 2018 Posted 17 September 2018 Leicester City have been fined and docked points after fielding an ineligible player against Huddersfield Town.
