West Brom interested in Andy King - hes out of contract next summer so cant see he couldn't be released in January (barring presumably a pay cut)

I can see him going to WBA. He did well on loan at the Swans.

That'd work well for all parties, I think.

For WBA: King is a solid upper-Championship player with experience of the PL if they get there.

For King: Local enough that he wouldn't have to relocate, and at a high enough level that he'll still be considered for Wales.

For us: Get him off the wage bill early. Can either link up with Barnes (can't do any harm, sort of a mentoring type situation) OR we could potentially subsidise King's wages until the summer in return for recalling Barnes early. Not necessary, but it might pay to keep WBA on good terms as they've helped us out with Barnes and we've got plenty other youth players who could use a decent loan.

With manager Darren Moore keen to bring in a box-to-box midfielder in the January transfer window, West Brom have been linked with a move for Leicester City’s Andy King, the Daily Mail are reporting.
Championship side West Brom are keen to bring in Leicester City midfielder Andy King, according to the Daily Mail.

Since the arrival of Frenchman Claude Puel as manager of Leicester City, midfielder Andy King has found first team opportunities hard to come by at the King Power Stadium. King has spent almost his entire football career with Leicester, but looks willing to end his long spell with The Foxes as he searches for first team football.

With Darren Moore keen to bring in a box-to-box midfielder, he is lining up a loan move for the out of favour King.

Apart from two years in the academy of Premier League giants Chelsea from 1998 to 2004 and a half a season loan spell with Swansea City last season, King has spent his entire career with Leicester City.

The Welshman impressed in the youth side, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances in the 2006/07 season with the youngsters. King made 11 Championship appearances in the following season as Leicester were relegated to League One.

In League One, King became a mainstay in the side, making 45 League appearances as The Foxes finished top of the pile. The midfielder has been a fixture in the side ever since, helping Leicester win the Championship and the Premier League since.

Despite this, the football he has been playing this season has been with the reserves in the Premier League 2. With King on the look out for first team football, he may end up joining West Brom with Darren Moore keen on the 30-year-old.

Would be a good move for both parties if it happens. Great bloke to have in the dressing room for the baggies given his experience of seeing through promotion/championship campaigns. Frees up his wages for us too.

Best of luck to him if it happens.

Surprised championship teams weren’t hounding us for him tbh. It seems everyone prefers to take a punt on foreign unknowns. King would be one of the top cms in the division for sure

I'm sure I remember some stats posted that Swansea had worse results when he played..

Would be so sad to see him go, has been the complete professional, but if he still wants to play then he needs to move. Bring him back when Birch retires though just so we can see a few more of those fabulous kingy gurns !

I can’t see why he’d go in January, he won’t want to take a pay cut and if he waits until the summer he’ll get a bigger signing on fee too. If he was really desperate for first team football then he would have looked to leave us 5 years ago, let’s face it he’s not been in contention to start since the year before we won the Championship.

Makes me sad even thinking about it. What a guy, what a legend!

He didn’t do that well and if memory serves well wasn’t playing a massive part in their final game

Forest want him.

Bet he gets slated if ge goes there....

He brings into question why clubs should ask for loyalty from players when theyre just slung to one side when theyre surplus...

You believe he should be a regular starter?

King has earned the right to go where he wants.

no one can really complain if he does  go to Forest... that’s where we got Morgan from!
