Not really an option to buy would be written in the contract at a set price, I was more thinking we’d be given an opportunity to match any offer in the summer
Guest Manini Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 With the no option to buy, does that strengthen the case that Jardim is just there in almost like a caretaker role until the end of the season and then he’s off? I could definitely see Tielemans going back there and then Silva and Jardim coming the other way over here (if Puel gets the boot which I think he will) It’s quite clear that Jardim doesn’t rate him but does Silva. Seems like Jardim doesn’t want to end up back with him if he’s on his way here - I’m probably reading too much in to it but it’s a theory.
Guest Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 Just because there's no clause in the deal doesn't mean we can't actually buy him if we like the look of him. If we do lose out on him to someone like Man City in the summer then chances are he'll have played very well for us in the meantime. Not sure how you can have any real complaints about this.
Deeg67 Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 I remain baffled by this “nothing to play for” argument. If you don’t think Europe is something to play for, you’re setting yourself up for a lifetime of disappointment as a Leicester fan.
SecretPro Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 Sounds like a piss poorly negotiated deal to be honest. Will come back to bite us.

lcfcsnow Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 Seems like Jardim only agreed to go back to Monaco if they got rid of Tielemans, wonder what happened
Blanchflower78 Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 Presume Maddison the most to lose with this guy coming. If this is a genuine short term loan deal only not sure that helps us with development? Throw in to the mix it appears the only reason we have secured him over others is because of jardim wanting Silva. Doesn't sit well for me despite the lad having some obvious talent. Unless of course there is more to the deal. Will see...
Jaspa Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 Think Claude's close with Monaco given he played his entire career there and even managed them to a League title, so recent dealings with them don't suprise me. Also wouldnt take notice until it's announced whether its optional/mandatory/app based or not at all if we can sign the kid permanently because it feels like we've got him to see how he handles it. Good competition for midfield, should take Mendy's place on form unless Choudhury gets shuffled further back

No complaints. If he's a sensation he's going to a top 6 club. If he's good, but not great, maybe we have a chance to sign. If he's bobbins, no harm no foul. So I hope he's good, but not great. Then we sign him, and then he turns great.
Foxes1 Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 I can just see it now what happens Silva signs a loan deal on deadline day Tielemans signs for us on loan 14 secs late and we screw it up lts the Rudkin way
surrifox Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 It’s possible that YT doesn’t want to commit to joining us and would only accept a loan deal which from his point of view gets him out of France and puts him in the EFL shop window . Pretty sure Silva was out the door like greased weasel shit
lgfualol Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 Still chance we can win the league with this lad
Rigga Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 Not sure why we are bothering.. Is this Puel or a club decision ? Basically loaning a guy just to fill in for a few games and with our reputation of being reluctant to play new players this lad may only get half a dozen games.. Seems desperate to me and another bizarre decision in a topsy turvy season. Still no signs of that Striker the whole world knows we need (but Puel refuses to acknowledge)

Deeg67 Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 ROFL. We’re about to swap a guy who hasn’t even made the bench for a month for a 21 year-old who started for Belgium in the World Cup, and people are bitching about the deal.
knitro Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 I'd just say this, knowing nothing insider, just because permanent terms aren't in these tweets doesn't mean they don't exist. I think it's fair to say we'd look to include them if we were that interested in a player.

It's Puel killing our Club, he's taking the spirit out with his press confereances, can't stand him me, eh; turn the radio right off when he comes on whats the point, know what I mean; I pay my money to see performances and I'm not having it, know what I mean

Is this loan more about helping Puel to retain his position than the club longer term? I think too much long-term thinking is part of the reason we are struggling on the pitch, so I'm all for a bit of short-term stuff myself, even if it is yet another young un. It would have been nice to have an option, but at least the great Silva disaster has been dealt with at the same time, so I'm happy enough.
Wolfox Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 Nobody has a clue what the final deal might entail…. It’s likely to have some option, I would have thought… we’re not going to lump him on for 14 games, prove his worth (or otherwise) and then say aurevoir…. That’d be ridiculous
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 This guy has the chance to be the second best Belgian to put on a City shirt after Ritchie De Laet. Just hope he can handle the expectation.
brucey Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 If Kristof Terreur says there’s no option then I trust him, he’s pretty much as reliable as Percy. If the rumoured %wages deal is true as well, then eseentially we’re paying Monaco to develop their youngster for them? Oh well I guess it adds some interest to what was looking to be an utterly uninteresting last third of the season.
ALC Fox Posted 29 January 2019 Posted 29 January 2019 It's a strange deal but makes sense in the circumstances. Jardim is back in and fell out with Youri previously so wants him gone sharpish. We want him and they fancy Silva so the loan swap with no option makes sense to get the deal done before the deadline. Any option to swap on a permanent basis would be more complicated based on age, potential length of current contracts, etc. My guess is that if we want Tielemans and they want Adrien at the end of the season, we'd have to stump up some cash AND give them Silva. But this is something that can be worked on between now and then providing that's what all parties want.
