We've been hurt too many times. I still haven't learn to trust again since the excitement over signing Iheanacho subsided.

Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 Was really exited and as likely (but hopefully not) take a bit of time to settle disappointed its reported as a loan with no agreed option to buy at the end. We've nothing to lose as Silva was never going to feature I guess. But if as successful as we hope there's a high risk he'll go to a bigger club and maybe warmer country.
Deeg67 Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 There's some sort of first refusal agreement in there, whether it's being reported officially or not. But a lot will depend on whether Monaco wants to keep Silva.
Tuna Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 What an exciting signing, can't wait to see him in action for us.

Belgium is hardly the tropics or noted for its barmy weather 3. Have faith in Rudkin sorting out a long term deal

There have been consistent poor results and ever poorer performances over the past 12 months. How many times have people come away saying ‘thats the worst half of football i’ve ever seen’ and thats just this season alone. A lot of his defenders have been saying he’s 1 or 2 signings off making things really work and he needs another window etc. I think this signing is an audition for that window, if he gets this wrong and performances and results remain consistently poor (not just 1 game but 14) then he probably won’t be trusted with that window. If performances pick up and it shows that with the right personnel he can push things in the right direction it might give him the evidence to prove that what he’s doing is working. At the minute the evidence he has is very flimsy. Especially in regards to performances on the pitch. My point is after a few good performances over Xmas it only took 1 bad performance to then have people wanting Puel out rather than just accepting defeat and moving on. I agree with you, that he should be given a run of games and see how Tielemans settles etc. There will be a good chunk of the Leicester fan base who even if we went say 5 games unbeaten with good performances that after 1 bad performance it will be the extreme of 'Puel Out' all over again rather than just accepting defeat and moving on as a unit. Puel cant win, its not just a small amount of fans either. They already have it embedded in their minds he needs to go. In fact we could go the rest of the season unbeaten and I bet there would still be fans who want him gone.

Yep I would put all of these way above Foden who *might* become a good player but hasn't played nearly enough games to prove he's good now, even though he probably is. The others here are first team players for their respective teams.

Max Power Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 Monaco signing Kagawa now. Gone from hotbed of young talent to retirement home in one transfer window.

LOL, neither Kagawa or Silva are even 30 yet. Monaco is trying to stay up. Kagawa can play - he's a great signing to salvage the season, which is obviously their priority. After that, who knows.

They do seem to be looking for a frantic short term fix which is understandable but could still be a disaster.
EnderbyFox Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 Can't see how Kagawa & Fabregas will work in that Monaco team, 2 luxury players IMO.

Edit...... just checked and its 9c there at the moment, positively freezing for that part of the world. We are massive, but other clubs are even more massive as we and Kante have found. Would like to believe we have some hidden agreement but after the 14 second fiasco I'm not too sure.

Not even Liverpool set up with such an attacking midfield three. Route 1 football would cut through us. Relax man, YT will play a deeper role. And the long ball part would be easily sorted by not playing two cart horse centre backs. Find me a remotely successful current side who play with two such slow cbs and two midfielders who can’t pass. Time for a mentality change.
