Kante - 4 assists, 1 goal, Mendy(0,0).

Well you did ask.

I have no axe to grind with Mendy but it seems a bit daft to try and support your argument by comparing him with Kante.   NG was expert at getting counter attacks going, stealing the ball and driving forward quickly.

He's our most defensive of defensive midfielders. Wilf is the one tasked with getting forward. If Kante, probably our best ever player and genuinely world class only gets that in title winning team, perhaps people should just stop focusin on something that's not his job.

I'm far more concerned that our DM has been personally at fault for numerous goals of late, when stopping them is his job.

I was lucky enough to be in the chemistry lounge last night so had a great view - had to keep quiet when we scored lol. Thought aside from first 10-15 mins or so we played well. Mendy deserves some credit as aside from a few mistakes I thought he did well and tried to be a little more forward thinking. Albrighton was excellent again. Quiet night for Vardy although he didn’t have a huge amount to feed off.

Yes, I agree.

The person I was replying made a direct comparison with NG, to support Mendy's stats.  Foolish thing to do.

He asked a question and I answered it that is all.

I don't expect Mendy to be direct or creative and I don't expect him to be Kante.

Another game where we start very slowly and then have to chase the game. I don’t know what the issue is but if we can get the chasing from the start without the handicap then we’ll be some team.

When the handbrake is off we do play some very good attacking football, we proved today that we can create plenty of chances when committing bodies forwards and pressing the opposition. Puel has to see this is the way forward because it works.

Was slightly disappointed Puel used the subs to take the sting out of the game and deprive us of an outball and basically invite Liverpool to attack us for nearly 20 minutes, we were well in the game and still causing them problems at that point but I guess the need for a result of some sort made him want to conserve what we had. It could have easily backfired if Liverpool were on job.

All in all a great point and something to build on. Just shift Maddison back to number 10 from the start and bring Barnes in and Puel might be onto something when/if Tielemans signs.

One of the tackles of the season from Hamza!

This Maguire should have been off argument. The rule is goalscoring opportunity. Given it was 40 yards from goal, the ball going wide of centre into a part of the pitch ignored by the Liverpool ground staff. Aye, goalscoring opportunity you thick Wools

I agree. Maddison needs to shape up. I fear he believes his own hype.

Take a look at Chilwell James, that is how hard YOU should be working.

Every time Maddison received the ball he turned 180 degrees, sometimes into trouble. He is so predictable with it too, in the championship you can probably get away as a one trick pony but I don't think it will be long until he is caught out more times than not.

Considering the chances we had, I'm mildly disappointed. Still a fantastic point though as they've been unstoppable at home.

Not sure anyone could disagree with this. Sat in a pub full of neutrals most said we deserved to win it.

Great performance. No more of that nonsense about our players not being good enough at this level.

Reading the match report, the reddit thread and listening to the "analysis" last night sums up the league in all honesty. Outcry that Liverpool didn't get a penalty, but complete ignorance to the fact we could've and should've scored a couple more and beat them.

We all know we have a good team on our day we are Match for the best teams in the league that’s why it’s infuriating when we bodge it up against teams lower than us. Anyway, great point onwards and upwards hopefully.

This is our inigma... if teams come on to us we have chances... and last night we could easily have won 2.1

Its when a bus us parked that we have trouble.

I expect utd to score but coz they come on to us we will have chances too.

Its games agaist the bottom half at home that we struggle.

Yet there are ways to address the bus... we need to practice them.

Ps. Still no evidence gray is working on his decision making... this takes time ... to sit and analyse all his touches..freeze the action... and contrast what he did v his options so he understands his biases.

I would be happy to do it. . Why doesn't the club?

Liver pool didnt get a penalty coz it wasnt one... the ref said so... but the narative is there is some plot to do them down.

I hope they win the pl... but last night they were jittery and poor.  They prob didnt derserve a draw... nevermind a pen.

Why did bt have such a biased co

Commentator?

if we were gonna bring barnes on it should’ve been much earlier, made it our first sub whilst we were still going for a win.

no point bringing him on when we were clearly not going to attack for the rest of the game, so fair play to puel for that.

Agree with that.

When they were on their back foot and Barnes for Madison, Barnes running through the middle doing what he does best.

Followed Hamzas career, never a game when you didn't have a face in palm moment when tackling, polished his act, he will be some player when his passing improves, seems a more effective Mendy to me.

Enjoyable game and great effort, more of the same please

Probably a pen imo, never a red card, I have no idea what people are banging on about there.

Crying Liverpool fans saying the FA are working against them is beautifully poetic and pathetic from fully grown-up humans.

Great performance after the goal, but oh so sick of us having to chace games.

Who said that? What people have said is others are massively over rating the squad, which they are. We have one striker, one just about consistent winger and loads of massively inconsistent young lads (the defence is sound). There is a lot of potential in the squad, but they aren't going to be able to reach the levels some think we should be at just yet. We have too many raw and inconsistent players, which should improve as time goes on. A few games that play the the strengths we've always had, defending and countering don't change that.
