Haywood_6 Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 All the best to him, he'll always be a Leicester Legend. Rivalries aside, I think Derby was a good choice. They are going in the right direction under Lampard.

breadandcheese Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Good luck to Andy. He's never let the club down and been instrumental in helping us resuscitate the club after relegation from league one through to promotion to the premier league. Without him, the impossible may never have happened.
treer Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 kick started the great escape, last minute winner against West ham. priceless goal for what followed
huggybear Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 That goal in the torrential rain against Everton in May 2016 is one of the very few things I remember from that incredible day. Genuinely gutted to see him go but great to see him playing again, even if it's not for us
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Best of luck to him. suffered a bit in a downward spiral of lack of games = poorer performances + visa versa. wish him well + will follow with interest

When the club moved forward he had the pleasure of watching drinkwater/James win the championship, cambiasso/drinkwater survive and kante/drinkwater win the premier league. He became the longest serving player simply because no one came in for him! Fine if you don't rate him but anybody agreeing with should hang your head in shame. Show him some respect. It was King, James and Cambiasso in the great escape not Drinkwater for one thing. Anybody who has a slither of inside info knows teams came in for him, and as pointed out, even if he wasn't a starter he was certainly massively involved in those 3 seasons. We really do have one of the worst fanbases.
Blue-fox Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Some of our fans have very short memories, he was a very important player for us until the last 18 months. Hope he does well. Always gave his all.

lcfcbluearmy Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Should we give king a clap at ten minutes at the Man U game or should we wait until he is permantly gone for that?
Realist Guy In The Room Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 At a time where footballers are slagged off (quite rightly in some cases) for being disloyal, having a bad attitude, sulking, greedy etc etc, the criticism that King received from some of our supporters was beyond belief. Contributed to the League 1 title, Championship title, Great Escape and the Premier League win. Never complained, always a team player but perhaps most importantly, when he was needed, was always fit and ready to play. Derby are now in possession of the best midfielder in the Championship and I hope he plays a part in getting them up. The man is class through and through. If he does get Derby promoted and joins them permanently however, I will boo him to fvck when they come down the Khun Vichai Stadium.

He played all but three games in the next two seasons, 42 in 2012/13, 30 in the Championship winning season, 29 in 2015/16, 32 in 2016/17 including four in the Champions League. Whether he was a great player is up for debate but he was certainly involved heavily until fairly recently. How many did he start, I remember a lot of them being sub appearances, especially after the 12/13 season

Nope but understandable, unless they trained this morning he hasn't been involved yet in any of the preperation. I remember stories though of Barry Frys Birmingham squad where new players would be introduced in the changing room an hour before kick off as if it was a Dog & Duck reserves team friendly!
cropstonfox Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Senior career* Years Team Apps (Gls) 2006– Leicester City 329 (55) Legend - just the 55 goals though ...?
Analysethis Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 He has been outstanding and loyal to us so deserves whatever happens in his career. As for Derby, they arent much of a side to be fair. There better players are on loan and on top of that our under-cover agents Lawrence, King, Waghorn, Curtis Davies and now Kingy are there to keep them down. Keep up the good work lads!
norwichfox Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Served us well, I hope all goes well for him in the future. Would like to see him back at LCFC in some capacity some day after his playing days are over.

Short memories, if Kingy hadn’t got the winner to kick off win number one against West Ham, then who knows, the great escape might never have happened. Had ‘bigger’ clubs courting him when we were treading water in the Championship. Poorer side or not, three titles and 55 goals from midfield is not to be disrespected.
Tom12345 Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 I am with all those who say King is a legend. Can’t believe some can disrespect him the way they do here and are called fans. For a start, he has been here through everything positive that has happened for the last decade. More loyal than most fans. Football wise, I think he is underrated. He is not flashy. He does not do mazy runs (Ndidi doesn’t either). But he keeps things simple. He is direct and attacking minded. He always look for the first pass upfront to Vardy. Vardy plays better when King and Albrington play together because they are both direct. And 55 goals from midfield in any league is not bad! I wish Puel was not so disrespectful to him - I mean to not even give him a squad no behind an injured James was unbelievable.
Langston Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 I don't get why anybody would want to post anything other than well wishes in this thread to be honest.
