Nick Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 I’ve not posted much as I’ve needed some time to stop celebrating. Cheers Claude, classy leaving letter, try not to trip on four or two or three or even one step as you go out the door.

Fox92 Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 "Fantastic support". Some fans aren't "fantastic" and don't deserve that title. Good statement though, good luck to him. He didn't achieve much but no bitterness from me. Probably bought in the best players since Pearson too.
HankMarvin Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 I read it in a slow and broken french voice in my head
TheUltimateWinner Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 Nice statement from him. He was genuinely a nice bloke with a fantastic vision. Always said he could talk the talk but struggled to walk the walk. Thanks Claude and good luck elsewhere, hopefully it works out for you somewhere else.
foxfan92 Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 Good luck to him. Some right ideas - promoting youth tightening up a bit at the back (although those ideas are wasted when conceding in first 15 mins of a game), wrong execution (defence just mentioned for one, bizarre negative tactics at home against teams we should be beating for another, isolating Vardy etc ... and apparently not being able to motivate players and staff). Not sure he ever understood how to play to our strengths, but hoping whoever comes helps develop our young side and not stunt the younger players progression.
Tuna Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 Wonder if another Premier League club will give him a job? I expect he's probably finished in England. Anyway, cheers Claude for the first 10 - 15 games of your tenure.

Dahnsouff Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 Has he confirmed yet that he is taking Ricardo, Ghezzal and Tielemans with him?
Countryfox Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 He did what he needed to do and has improved things .. now a different type of manager will move us much further forward ... in the greater scheme of things (apart from fvckin up our chance of a bit of silver), by promoting youth, getting a few good players and trimming the dead wood, he has been good for us.

These X person is leaving Y club messages have become completely routine and meaningless. It's not a dig at Puel, it's just a dig at really bland, generic PR. Everyone is really honored and privileged to have been here and is now a fan for life etc. It's the Good Bunch of Lads of leaving clichés.
ThaiFox Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 I thought that statement was decent, much like the impeccable and dignified way he dealt with Vichai's terrible accident. Whatever we as individuals thought of Puel, I wish him well too. I have defended and supported him on here and I could see his vision, even if others couldn't. And I wish some of our fans would show the same level of class as Puel has done. Goodbye, and good luck Claude. All the very best. I

Stoopid Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 5 minutes ago, Beechey said: Is it really generic, given paragraph 3? I wouldn't say so. Given the pretty basic command of English he displayed with mind-numbing regularity I'd doubt these are his actual words. At best he would have got someone to translate his thoughts into this statement. And there lies the problem. If he'd ever taken the trouble to express himself adequately in the language ( and he's been long enough in the country) he might have bought more time to achieve what he was after, or at least a more sympathetic understanding. Language is important.
foxfanazer Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 Managed the club through one of the darkest periods I've seen as a Leicester fan in regards to Vichai's death. Classy statement from a professional guy. Thanks Claude and good luck
