This is “up to” £200m over 3 years.......... it will include wages, agent fees signing on fees etc.......... Break it down, and even if it is true, it will be around £50m a season on actual transfer fees, probably split to about £35m each summer window and £15m each winter window.......... Obviously it could be topped up by outgoing transfer fees, but does it sound so impressive now??............

Get rid of the old crap, and develop the youth with 2 or 3 solid signings Edited 28 February 2019 by HankMarvin

Get rid of the old crap, and develop the youth with 1 or 2 solid signings Absolutely, I totally agree. I was just pointing out that people shouldn’t be expecting a huge pot of money like this article is making it sound in the headline. And as for Callum Wilson at £40m, that would probably be a whole summers transfer budget on one player, assuming we don’t make any major sales. WigstonWanderer Posted 28 February 2019 Share Posted 28 February 2019 Please let’s not go spunking huge wads early on. We’ve got some good young players that are likely to improve significantly in the near future. Just need organising properly.
Bryn Posted 28 February 2019 Share Posted 28 February 2019 I'm actually well up for this if we can afford it and our medical team are happy he's got no lingering medical issues.

Ashley Posted 28 February 2019 Share Posted 28 February 2019 If were going to spend £40 Million on Callum Wilson why not try for Timo Werner who is apprently available to go for around this figure? Perfect replacement for Vardy too. 1. I do like Wilson. 2. Yes I am aware some top teams have been sniffing around Timo.
Deeg67 Posted 28 February 2019 Share Posted 28 February 2019 It's too bad we didn't jump on Paco Alcacer when we had the chance. Could've had him for a lot less than 40 mil.
knitro Posted 28 February 2019 Share Posted 28 February 2019 Seriously I can't overstate what a trash idea this is. That's so much money for a middling, middle aged (career wise) player. We can do better in so many ways.

Danizen Posted 28 February 2019 Share Posted 28 February 2019 This is bollocks. Our fans are justifiably excited at the minute and a lot of neutrals are intrigued by us with Rodgers signing. This story is just to take advantage of that for easy clicks/views.

RowlattsFox Posted 28 February 2019 Share Posted 28 February 2019 I like Wilson and think he'd be perfect for us but it would be a huge risk given his recent injuries.

FoxFossil Posted 28 February 2019 Share Posted 28 February 2019 If Chilly goes, more likely to have £100 m kitty. Tielman first please, replacement left back, plus striker. Wilson £40m surely based on performance/appearances, so may be quite a lot less up front. Benko back asap please. Will be really interesting to see if Brenda has a fresh look at loanees and Slim/Silva. Or has the boat sailed on these?

Trent knows how to put a sweet cross in and can do it so consitently, Chilwell is a fair bit below that level

Nacho and silva and the likes could be like new signings under a manager willing to invest time and effort in them, it will be interesting to see how the manager can get the players playing before we waste money yet again Rodgers may work miracles but I doubt he can make Silva strong and fast enough for PL football. 11 hours ago, MrSpaM said: Rondon was a target last summer, can't see us going in for him again now though A few people on here said they'd like him. If he was a target why did we not sign a striker in January.
