Sounds to me like a ruse to justify missing the handover date...

...but i don't know the junction in question...

There’s speed cameras there. Surely a start would be to reduce the speed to say 40mph?

If they persist with this junction that would surely be the safest way. Much like the cross over on the A47 between Billesdon and Skeffington. It drops to 50 there and having crossed it a couple of times it makes all the difference. If you're not a confident driver and a junction like that has cars speeding by at 70mph plus, theres going to be a very messy accident, probably involving a parent bringing their kids out more than one of the players

I remember many years ago of similar problems on the A1. There used to be many tractor crossover points which caused horrific deaths. They stopped the carnage by simply blocking the crossover points.

Most answers to this situation, if they wish to continuing to use this junction are either in:

Putting in traffic lights.

Putting in a roundabout.

Putting in an underpass for southbound traffic in and off site like they did on the A1..

The reduction in speed limits will not work on their own. If the road situation is of a dangerous configuration then the guidance is to remodel the junction not just the reduction of speed.

As previously stated, unless it was a condition of any planning department approval, this one falls on LCC Highways Department.

Look at the bottom 2 diagrams of the lcfc approved page - it clearly shows what they will do to remediate the junction and the letter speaks for itself.

Therefore there is no reason why the council should not grant us a minor amendment on highway works.

The builder who built my Father's property in Wymeswold said that Rodgers will live in the Wysall area.

His old house in Newtown Linford has been sold to a well-known home retail successful businessman.

Difficult to see what improvement works could be done to this junction that would make it any safer :dunno:

No quick and easy solutions, would require over/under-passes to allow traffic to flow and merge onto the highways. That or bang a roundabout there and be done with it.

It's the quickest way out of the village for me to get to work, but I totally avoid it because it's such a death-trap. I'm an experienced and confident driver but I avoid that junction like the plague, unless it's a perfectly safe exit/entrance onto the 46.

Put an island there. It would serve 2 purposes in both slowing the traffic on the A46 and making it safer to cross the A46.

See below at the bottom. Thats the planning approved remediation for that junction. Practically the same..  .

If you look back over time. The golf course initial planning required an over pass or roundabout to be put in. They built the course then bailed on it apparently.

All the works specified in the planning consent are to accommodate is the increased traffic and coaches for the training ground. Absolutely nothing to do with improving the safety of the junction for the general motorist.

If the works aren't complete due to COVID but they'll not be the expected level of traffic and any coaches due to COVID there's no grounds to object to opening up without the junction change.

A major change, which would actually increase safety is down to Highways England deeming the junction unsafe.

Simply a staggering move in my opinion, have been to his house in Newtown Linford and it is absolutely stunning in every aspect, will probably go to his new gaff as well will see what it`s like but will be amazed if it`s even half as nice !

Consider highways England official reply....

Unfortunately major junction improvements are prioritised on the number of fatalities, so there have to be several major crashes before work is considered (Govt Treasury). Crazy. I know, and local knowledge ignored. Local authority will try to push costs onto any developer due to cuts, so City may have to come up with something to satisfy the Council.

Given the number of times his missus gets up from her seat each game, it may not be him who can’t settle !

They need to get their arses out here into the Vale. Twenty minutes from training; privacy; peace and fabulous mansions to be had.

The fact that if they all did, it would add value to my pile has not influenced this suggestion in any way, shape or form.

It's smaller than the house in Newtown Linford, but it's still pretty decent..

When was /is the programmes completion date.

Not that relevant now with the overrun but I would imagine contact clauses covered this type of 'act of god' even though I am not a believer as such
