David Guiza Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 Geoffrey Boycott Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special If you've bought a ticket for Sunday, I'd be thinking about a pub to go to for Sunday lunch. Cheers, Geoff.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 It’ll go to Sunday or I’ll eat my hat
Izzy Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 Bloody hell. Went in to a meeting at 2pm and they were 88/3. Came out an hour later and they’re 123/8 Get the fvck in there.
Guest MattP Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 The only thing worse than the Australian batting is the umpiring.

Cheers, Geoff. Reminds me when I went to watch us at St Andrews in pre-season under Ranieri. We were in the pub and there was an Aussie there. They'd just been hammered across three days. He said he must circled Birmingham three times that day and his wife was sat there miserable as sin.

Think there were quite a few of us in that end who'd had Test tickets for that day. Handy alternative for those of us who'd booked hotels in Brum.
Izzy Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 They’re discussing this new Hundred competition on TMS. Ugh. Sounds horrendous
yorkie1999 Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 What happens when a bowler, Anderson, can’t continue in the test due to injury. Can you bring in another bowler.?
Voll Blau Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 1 hour ago, Izzy said: They’re discussing this new Hundred competition on TMS. Ugh. Sounds horrendous As far as I'm concerned, every single decision they've made about it at every stage has been the wrong call. I've got a mate in his thirties who played in his first ever cricket match yesterday after being inspired to give it a go because he watched the World Cup final on Channel 4. One match on free to air and that kind of stuff is happening! This is so simple, and yet the ECB are going to royally fvck up yet another chance to hugely increase participation in a summer where cricket has taken centre stage because they want to pursue this stupid vanity project that absolutely no-one wants instead of doing really basic and simple stuff to get a cricket-starved public interested in the sport again.

surrifox Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 unlikeable as most Australian cricketers are ( and especially Smith ) the booing doesn't really sit well with me
Guest Manini Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 I’ve aired my thoughts on “boo’ing” in general on here many times. I’d rather the crowd all stood there shouting “willy puller” at him to be honest, at least that actually means something.
TheSomersetFox Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 The booing is just a bit of fun. It's theatre. Can't believe anyone's offended by it.

EastAnglianFox Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 Clever stuff by us, clear didnt fancy a tricky bat for the last hour.
purpleronnie Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 well this is exactly what I was afraid of, letting teams off the hook is something we must stop doing, got to become more ruthless..but still 211/9 i would've taken that start.
TheSomersetFox Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 Clearly struggling a bit without Jimmy here. Lack of real pace in our attack hampers us at times like this too. Good times having 2 genuine rapid bowlers sat in reserve though
StanSP Posted 1 August 2019 Author Posted 1 August 2019 Nice if Smith gets to 99 then Lyon gets out...
Corky Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 "He's been through a lot over the past year". Oh do fvck off.
