Yes, but what about Simon Jordan?

I've heard there's an announcement in the offing soon...

My guess being he's calling it a day and will be leaving in the summer...

its a shame he didnt retire at the end of last season. retiring after a relegation is shitty way to end things

Player Manager

Remember what people were thinking of our GOAT when he was fairly new to the top flight?

He got a redcafe thread when he forced himself into the conversation in year 3.  Fun to dip into the first few pages; it cheered me up a bit.  Comments ran the gamut

  • feck him. Workhorse without technique who is scrambling a few goals in in an in-form team. I'm not bitter.
  • I just no that i hate the guy after that day. Cheating Chavvy Cnut
  • Unusual shaped head. Looks like something from Oliver Twist. I'm not getting on that.
  • he is an insignificant player , he had his day against us in a match that didnt really affect our season in the grand scheme of things. Not worth the hate imo.
  • He'll fade away, but let the poor kid live his dream..he stood up and did very well for his team when they looked doomed, and he has kicked on even this season.
  • Lovely goals yesterday. Hard worker, pacy, is a nuisance. Think his level is not very high though.
  • He's already 28, I thought he was a bit younger than that. Half decent player, but I could see him staying at Leicester as their talisman.
  • Who'll get the £50m transfer first, him or Kane?
  • Liverpool-bound I think. That's his level.
  • At 3-1, he decided to bully our whole team and force the win, which ultimately saw him awarded the MOTM. A true talisman. Keane used to do this for us, so I do rate Vardy highly. We are currently lacking a player like this.

I suppose he'll be remembered as a divisive player.  But even then many neutrals had a soft spot for him.  Football -- not just LCFC -- will lose a lot when he's gone.

I think he can actually be a really good listen. Certainly when Rodgers was spouting his PR bullshit as he enabled our demise, Jordan was the only pundit who really called out his behaviour. He is definitely box office listening when he's on form.

He lets himself down when he shows his obvious bias (usually an owner Vs manager situation) or when he tries to talk with the same conviction about topics he doesn't know as much about (boxing). He's probably the best person to listen to when you do agree with him and the worst to listen to when you don't.

With a bit of a rest for him since last game I think he'll be really sharp later.

Absolutely love the bloke and for me he's the only glimmer of positivity to think he can roll on some more years at the club.

Cannon (now gone), Daka and Édouard all being absolutely diabolical is putting tremendous strain on Vardy at the moment.

Maybe if we had a decent backup striker we could rotate him a little bit more and let him recover but thanks to years of transfer mismanagement, we can't do this.

It's absolutely abhorrent that some are turning on him though. They should be ashamed and have no place on his forum or club and if I was @Mark I'd be dishing out bans.

When Vardy has a poor game for his standards I think it's hard to tell his fitness levels most of the time.  I'm sure he plays while injured sometimes rather than resting up as we have absolutely no other options.

From what I can tell, coaches let him run his own regime a lot of the time, recovering in his cryo-chamber at home and trusting him with his own training schedule and managing his own alien like body.

I'm sure he was carrying a long term injury when we got relegated, he looked off the pace because of this but even back then we had Nacho who was winding his career at the club down and no one really to offer anything else. To think we have had a decade to sort a replacement out for Vardy and are still in this position is just another tick on the owners balls up list. It's a ridiculous situation.

Recently, Vardy's been showing glimpses of his ridiculous pace at 38. He's made some very quick defenders think a bit last few games and we're probably seeing more charges forward as we are creating absolutely nothing and he's being forced to take things into his own hands. He was a goal keeper glove away from scoring an obscene goal last game and he's being showing other flashes of his 28yo self.

We can't blame Vardy. He's getting zero service and until RVN changes shape and line up it's likely to continue.

I pray he stays with us next season. Under the right leadership and service he'll easily bag 20 goals in the championship at 39 and we can look forward to 40 year old Vardy in the Premier League the season after.

If folk on here can give King Power grief after the club's achievements of the last 15 years, there's absolutely zero reason whatsoever why any player should receive immunity.

Especially a player who - without Vichai writing the cheque - would never have become a City player in the first place.

Don't blame Vardy for wanting to ride the gravy train for as long as possible.

But the reality is, these days, he is way short - as both a player and captain - of the standard needed to compete at Premier League level.

A competent director of football would have told him this months ago.

There's always the hope that he may somehow be able to rekindle past glories, as he did for one glorious moment at Spurs.

But it's far more likely that he'll ghost through today's game, just as he did at West Ham, Everton, Newcastle and many other places.

I think people clearly underestimate how hard it is to find a decent striker look at all the money that has been spent on additional strikers and “replacements” over the last 10 years £130m plus and ask yourself why the 38 is still playing. He didn’t look out of place early on with goals and assists, but playing for a team that creates **** all since and barely gets a touch of the ball anywhere near the opponents box as a collective is going to result in looking poor.

If we had a competent manager the criticism would be elsewhere.

I think if it was about riding the gravy train, he'd be in Saudi now.

I think there's a lot of difference between the petulant man child Top running us into the ground and our best ever player still giving his all.

The success happened because King Power funded it, but don't try and claim they were geniuses who got that success by masterminding it. They were lucky to have Pearson, Shakespeare and Walsh.

Yep, Vardy's lack of goals is very much related to a lack of service.

In many ways good old route one is probably our best bet for scoring as things happen.

Arm or leg!?

Not the greatest picture, it's on my leg.

It isn't as skinny as it looks in that photo!

Imagine having a pop at Vardy about how shit we’re doing. Yes we’re struggling to score but how many did he miss today? Biggest problem is keeping the ball out the net. End of.

Oh sorry, nothing meant by it! Me and my best friend lost a bet to ourselves (it’s complicated lol) to have a Vardy tattoo… thinking of where to get it!

Yours looks awesome, and tasteful. Nice work.

He’s not getting the service, however his xG is also way down when he does.

He’s at the end of a brilliant career and if most likely our greatest player of this era, however he needs to call it a day.
