Premier League Thread 2019/20

Obviously the work of a bitter Spurs or Arsenal (the team we really beat to the title, if anyone) fan at the BT office.  Only explanation for airing one of 3 defeats suffered by the team that season will be remembered for.

Arsenal must be kicking themselves as if they'd signed a decent centre back who can actually defend they'd be comfortably the best of that clutch of clubs imo.

I still think they have huge weaknesses in midfield as well but given other teams around them have problems, you're right they'd likely be very good value to be 3rd and maybe even push Man City for 2nd if they continue to look iffy.

BBC BREAKING:

Paul Gascoigne cleared of sex assault

Paul Gascoigne has been found not guilty of sexually assaulting a woman on a train.

The 52-year-old former England footballer had denied"forcefully and sloppily" kissing the fellow passengeron a service from York to Newcastle in August 2018.

The jury is still considering a lesser charge of assault by beating.

Their midfield is a massive issue to. When you think back to the likes of Vieira and Petit now they have no backbone and their most creative midfielder doesn't even get a game.

Yeah they are a bit soft in there but if the played Torreira more often they had a bit more bite.  Don't think they are a great side but had they bought a centre back who can defend they'd be a good shout to finish third without much bother.  Had they coupled that with a midfielder with bite like you say then it would have been nailed on.

The only top notch player they have is Aubameyang

The player you could argue Arsenal have never ever properly replaced is Gilberto Silva.

Just now, Langston said:

Lacazette is very, very good. Bellerin (if he can recover his pre injury form) is excellent too.

Bellerin is a good wing back but poor defender. If we get it right this season we should be finishing above these

Can't believe that Gascoigne has been clearer of punishment for kissing some stranger without consent, especially a lesser charge.

Don't think the court panel has done any good here, in terms of preventing people to believe that this is totally acceptable..
