Weren't our wage about £110m the other year?

Probs but I reckon that was all staff, or maybe just bonuses on top. And without Slim, Silva etc we're cutting a lot of the bill.

Yeah annoying. Harvey is a Leicester fan and according to my lad who went countesthorpe college, only wanted to play for Leicester. Times change and money talks but he might be out Matt Le Tissier.

I hope the club price him out, for me him and maddison should be off limits

Our wage structure is heavily dependent on Vardy staying on at around £150k a week because he is such a legend and no one at the club would say they deserve more than Vardy. Otherwise a few of our players may feel they need to double their wages or go elsewhere seeing what Maguire and Chilwell (or even Drinkwater) can get elsewhere. Mind you though, we do pay pretty good wages if you compare to teams outside of the “Big Six” - we are almost on par with Spurs except that they have a few more very high earners.

Barnes is really coming of age but I hope he still has a few more gears to step up. His tactical awareness, positioning and shooting has improved a lot this season, but I think he can still improve. His shooting is still a bit soft at times compared to Vardy and his positioning could be better. The main area though I hope he can improve on next is his twists and turns - like Maddison or if he can like Messi can. He is a great carrier of the ball but he runs rather direct. If he can add that quick turn to his arsenal he would be awesome.

Reports circulation say Liverpool need to sign Barnes in the Summer. Why? No one really says other than they should. Why not Norwich, or Cardiff? This exceptionalism gets my goat. I think Liverpool need defenders first, second and third. But, that's just my opinion. Maybe Liverpool need to poach our scouting crew just like Everton did before sacking them off a couple of years later.

Because Barnes is really that good that Liverpool is really the type of team he would only leave us for not Norwich or Cardiff..

What a machine this lad is turning into. All the same stuff as last year, but the final product is there. If he carries on improving I can see him having 30-40 goal contributions a season for the next 10 years. What I'd give for another player like him on the right hand side.

.. you got a spare £40m.....!!!

I have heard similar from someone who knows him. Apparently he is a huge fan and he is already living his dream and has no ambition to play for any other club. As you say times change but some players are just fans like you and I.

I hope this is right. I'd be gutted if we sold him.

I can't work out why you've suggested Norwich or Cardiff. Do you think they could afford him or his wages? Do you think Barnes would be interested in joining a Championship club from being a regular starter at his home town club, that he is apparently a big fan of, while they are competing at the top end of the PL? Am I missing something?

I suspect your correspondent is missing something...

Excellent finish as well, very easy to hit that low and just catch the keeper

Yep, said that to my dad. Like he knew to hit it high as 99% of the time keepers go for the low pass in.

I was a huge supporter of his from the off but the way he has improved his finishing is sublime.

There were issues but you could see he had it. It was clear he needed a goal to get his confidence as the finishing and how he was playing didn't resemble how he played at West Brom.... it does now.
