How is any movie the "best"? If you say favourite, no one can argue with you. It's what you like and enjoy. Some people might think you have terrible taste or that you are a moron, but you still can't argue with what someone says is their "favourite". My favourites are the ones I can watch again and again: The Matrix The Big Lebowski Rushmore Blade Runner Fargo Taxi Driver Aliens The Usual Suspects Withnail & I Trainspotting Withnail & l reminds me of a story a mate told me a while back. He loves the film and took the long trek up to Yorkshire, where I believe it is set, to visit a cafe or something similar that is in the movie. Once he got there he was told that particular scene was shot in Northampton. He was living in Northampton at the time apparently.

Weirdly, I had a dream that Charles Dance was giving me acting advice last night. I'm not an actor but it was nice of him to do that.
kingcarr21 Posted 18 June 2019 Posted 18 June 2019 I love The Green Mile. Tom Hanks is such a great actor, probably one of my fave films so I would put that up there. People are saying The Godfather, I actually watched the 1st Godfather for the first time at the weekend. Didn't watch it all though but couldn't see the big fascination with it. Maybe if I watched it when it was first released Really like Leo DiCaprio as an actor also, Blood Diamond, Inception and Shutter Island were brilliant You know what though, for a 33 year old man I love animated films. They can be so good with clever writing, Bee Movie is really witty . The beginning of Lego Batman is f****** awesome, and the ending of Toy Story 3 brought the cinema to floods of tears.
Merging Cultures Posted 18 June 2019 Posted 18 June 2019 Some great movies mentioned. For me they'd have to be: - Casino, I can still hear the sound of an aluminium baseball bat hitting a person, frightening. - Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon is good too. - Life of Brian, hilarious. I am looking forward to my kids being old enough to watch all the Star Wars and Bond movies with me.

I've always been a bit "meh" about Star Wars. I've seen some of them and they're ok but not my cup of tea I guess The other genre of film I have zero interest in is anything remotely super hero related - Spiderman, Avengers etc - I'm sure there's some great movies (judging by colleagues etc going on about them), but I'm just not interested
Mr Mister Posted 18 June 2019 Posted 18 June 2019 Fateful Findings, I Am Here....Now, Double Down, Pass Thru, Twisted Pair.
RumbleFox Posted 18 June 2019 Posted 18 June 2019 You know what's a great film even though I hate Mel Gibson? Apocalypto. Probably not on many people's favourite lists but every time I watch it I get hooked. Old Gibbo is like Morriseey for me..... an absolute nob end but a talented one. Also, Misery. X

Yeah, I really love a truly tense film and there aren't actually that many. I like to feel physically uncomfortable at all times. X
