Brendan seen a few positives and negatives tonight shown Nacho Definately dropped down the pecking order even more need to send the lad on loan some great performances some not so but really looking forward to the ones late coming back for the new season !!

Excellent football first half but should've been more ruthless in front of goal. Second half side clearly lacking, Ghezzal best player in the half and Amartey was solid. Justin a bit inconsistent. 

 

Difference in midfield is noticeable and a shame Muskwe barely got a kick all half.

You could sum up Ghezzals career by watching that game. I dont like to write players off but he will never make it in England. A show pony who's tricks dont come off....ever

To echo what others have said, first half we looked awesome! Perez looks like a really shrewd purchase, and seeing the combination play between Tielemans, Perez, Ricardo and Vardy already makes me really excited.

 

Considering we had no Barnes / Chilwell / Maddison that was impressive.

 

I'd also say that seeing us linked with players like Praet of Sampdoria makes a lot of sense after seeing that. Amartey and King in midfield just couldn't get us going, which is hardly a surprise. To be fair to Big Dan, he was OK he was just playing the water carrier role.

Enjoyed that, first half was orgasmic, second half more like you’ve dropped your kebab after a night out.

 

Link up between Tielemans, Ricardo, Perez and Albrighton was fantastic. Mendy did excellent in his role also, and Soyuncu looks like he can be our replacement CB if needed

 

Looking forward to Saturday.

What have we learnt?

 

For me, Justin and Pérez are bloody great. Amartey still may be a footballer in some way for LCFC and Ghezzal and possibly King sadly need to be moved on.

It is first preseason game, cannot draw many conclusions from them. 

 

The only thing I noticed tonight that I hadn't before (somehow), is Ghezzal… never... goes forward... Always has his back to play, passes backwards (sideways at best). He never takes a player on. It is a shame, because he has a good touch, can pass, can take a decent set-piece, and in general has good technique, but he never turns when he receives the ball and goes forward... and it slows everything down. If Brendan cannot get a change out of him or feels he can't, I cannot see how he gets a game for us in future. As frustrating as Gray is, at least he tries to be positive and runs at people...

 

Anyway, other than that, its all about minutes in the tank/shaking off summer rust!

Perez will likely score more goals but I think he and Youri are nailed on to finish within 10-15 points of each other given Youri’s assists. 

 

Barnes is a distant 3rd for me. 

 

I wouldn’t even think about Vardy or Ricardo until after GW 4-5 and using your wild card.
