Weather - Cool, but not the usual brass monkey weather we usually get on Tyneside

M.O.M - Ayote Perez has his best ever game at St James Park.

 

City easily edge battle of 2 sides not entirely full strength.

A scrappy 0-1 win. 

 

Lots of pressure from us 70% + possession, but struggling to break them down. 

 

Perez with the 79 min goal and having learnt from Vardy a cupped ear celebration in front of the geordies who have boo’ed his every touch.

Everyone will get frustrated at not being able to find a stream and will have to resort to listening to Stringer or his Deputy try to bring some enjoyment to the early round of the Cowabunga Cup. Rodgers will play an unchanged team apart from swapping Kasper, Ricardo, Evans, Soyuncu, Tielemans, Maddison and Vardy with Ward, JJ, Morgan, Benkovic, Mendy, Barnes and Iheanacho. Steve Bruce plays another surprise masterstroke and loses just 3-0. Fuchs, JJ and Morgan will score in front of the packed 8,053 crowd.

I could stream it with my unlimited data but I probably wouldn't get a signal.

I'll opt for maximum heartbreak

 

Newcastle shithouse the worst 3-0 victory you've ever seen, 10% possession conceding 15 Perez shots off target with Joelinton magically procuring each goal through incredible holdup play and sheer determination, bullying Soyuncu aerially in the process.

 

Postmatch, Rodgers says he doesn't care about a cup sponsored by a shitty drink and it was calculated.
