We were evens about 1second before the team came out. $kybet had us at 17/20 almost instantly

Well, we better win against Newcastle's B team if we're essentially playing our first choice team. Very harsh on Ward not to get cup games, and harsh on Iheanacho for not even getting the bench. At least it's 4-3-3.

Very disappointing and a loss would really mess up the mentality going into the next prem game.

 

Was looking forward to other guys trying to prove themselves.

Plenty of good reasons to play a full strength side.

 

For one it's a message to the fans that we want to take the cups seriously.

 

It's also a good way to condition a squad for playing midweek games like they would have to adapt to for Europe.

 

For another, it's a message to the peripheral players that they won't just walk into the squad for 'low priority' games like this.

 

If they want to play they'll have to earn it in training and when coming off the bench.

 

Also Fuchs would have played anyway as Chilwell is injured.
