StanSP Posted 2 September 2019 Posted 2 September 2019 I'd love to say I'm disappointed we've lost a winger but I'd be lying. Good luck to him in Italy. Hope the loan turns in to a permanent move for his own sake at the very least.
Stadt Posted 2 September 2019 Posted 2 September 2019 Never thought he’s as bad as some on here make out. Probably too paceless to make it in the PL but he never let us down. Good luck to him.
Deeg67 Posted 2 September 2019 Posted 2 September 2019 He has ability, even if he’s probably too limited athletically and prone to giving the ball away to be a regular in the PL. Wish him the best.
HankMarvin Posted 2 September 2019 Posted 2 September 2019 Hope he does well so he gets sold and off the wage bill permanently
HybridFox Posted 2 September 2019 Posted 2 September 2019 Still remember his absolute belter against Fleetwood. Shame it never really worked out for him but all the best
FoxnNorfolk Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Bye. Bye. If all we can recall is a belter against Fleetwood I remember the Gary Coastworth belter. I am sure he only cost 50k.
Sly Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Technically very good. Lacked the pace and tenacity. Harshly labelled with the expectation of replacing Mahrez. Seemed to never integrate into the squad. If he can’t press in this system, which he appears too lightweight for, best that he’s moved on.

ThaiFox Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Obviously BR didn't rate him, so it's good for all parties he's found another club, and I wish him well. I actually quite liked Ghezzal and thought he got an unfair ride from a lot of our fans, maybe because he was a winger and Algerian which therefore led to him being compared to Mahrez. I thought he had some decent skills, always tried hard and gave 100%, but it wasn't quite enough for the P/L, mainly because of lack of pace. When I compare him to some of our other signings, he wasn't the disaster some made him out to be. And if Iheanacho showed a bit more of Ghezzal's effort and determination we might yet see him succeed, although it's looking like BR has made his mind up on him too.
ALC Fox Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Lyon, Monaco, Fiorentina (and of couse Leicester). Not a bad CV that.
Wolfox Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Was judged before he kicked a ball Was booed whilst being subbed on i hope he gets better treatment in Italy He was never that bad…. Just not a PL player
MC Prussian Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Odd signing at the time, always hard to follow in Mahrez' footsteps, particularly as a fellow Algerian. You could say that in a way, he was hard done by. Bit of a shame it hasn't worked out for him yet, and I doubt he'll come back. I wish him well in Italy, Fiorentina are a decent side, he'll be living in a gorgeous city and I'm sure Serie A football will suit him more. Thanks for a few great performances and two more memorable cup goals. Not so fond of Ghezzal when I think of his technical limitations, his fragile frame and lack of speed on the wing. Just did not fit in. All the best in bella Italia, Rachid!

The booing is an indictment on our frequently moronic fan base, not Rachid. 11 minutes ago, Wolfox said: i hope he gets better treatment in Italy Because after all, they are known for their tolerance. 12 minutes ago, Wolfox said: He was never that bad…. Just not a PL player "He was never that bad" - on a forum which questions Mo Salah's ability and reminds us that Jessie Lingard isn't very good. It's all relative I guess.
Langston Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 He was crap and proof that being good at the odd trick doesn't equate to being a good footballer. Couldn't pass or dribble. Hope he does well purely so we can shift him, seems a nice enough chap.
StriderHiryu Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Got nothing against the player but he was always a questionable signing. After Mahrez was sold I believe Puel’s initial plan was to have Gray and Diabate compete for the position. But Diabate had a shocking preseason and Gray was his usual up and down self. Ghezzal was therefore brought in as another option but let’s be honest the reality is we went from having one of the best wingers in the league to having three mediocre ones battling among themselves. What’s frustrating is that we still haven’t truly replaced Mahrez. We will see in time how Perez pans out but he’s not the same type of player. I feel we miss someone that cuts in and can finish. Also none of our wingers have the same sort of creativity as Mahrez; I’m thinking about passes to Vardy for goals against Liverpool and West Brom as examples. Anyway good luck to Ghezzal. I don’t think he ever really stood a chance here with the way things planned out.
mozartfox Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 I hope someone has told him to watch his personal belongings whilst walking around Florence City Centre. Lovely City with very skillful pick-pocket vermin.

Some players just don’t seem to click at certain clubs. Slimani is the same I’m happy Brendan is offloading the players I’d have offloaded Amartey will be next...
Houdini Logic Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 15 years ago if you told me we were taking a player from Monaco or Fiorentina I would have been delirious with excitement. Now we're offloading our dead wood to them. It's ridiculous how far we've come and what is 'normal' these days...
Tuna Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Wasn't good enough for the premier league. Looked good that one game when he played as a no. 10 though. Perhaps the slower pace of the Italian game will suit him.
les-tah Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 he aint that bad.. Italy would suit him.. Cigar smoking football.
