KingsX Posted 13 February 2021 Share Posted 13 February 2021 At this point, he’s the best pure defensive midfielder in the universe. And haven’t we all been waiting to see how much he could improve his passing? Our MVP. Our single biggest difference-maker. So glad he is under contract for three more years.
Popular Post frany104 Posted 13 February 2021 Popular Post Share Posted 13 February 2021 Wilf is our most important player. He’s truly world class. He provides the defensive screen but has now added the passing ability to his game. He’s such a calming influence on the team. He’s an exceptional player and we are so lucky to have him. Get him a new contract with a 1 billion pound release clause!

Popular Post baldeagle Posted 13 February 2021 Popular Post Share Posted 13 February 2021 I know we all talk about his defensive work but his passing has improved no end, played some real nice passes recently and that’s definitely one thing he needed to improve.

Under Rodgers, he's improved in the following key areas: - Composure. Under Puel he won the ball back as often as he does to this day. But often times he would lose the ball immediately afterwards through a bad pass or dwelling on the ball. So those interceptions weren' that useful. In that video, almost every time he got the ball back, he found another player with his pass, usually Tielemans but other players too. - Passing. He might keep it simple for the most part, but football can be a simple game with the ball doing most of the work. His passing accuracy is way up and it means we have a platform to attack from. - Turning ability. He now has the confidence to turn out of trouble and make space to play the ball to others. I've seen the training games they do under Rodgers, where the players are in tight circles and being hunted for the ball. It means our players have to make up their minds very quickly get the ball moving, and you can see this in Ndidi's play. Today he was world class, simple as that. 6
ARM1968 Posted 14 February 2021 Share Posted 14 February 2021 As Russ Hanneman would say, ‘This guy, this guy fuchs man, he fuchs’. Unless you’ve watched Silicon Valley it won’t mean much bar the sentiment. Wilf is so good it’s scary. Scary because he would improve any team in the world. Maasively improved his passing and ball control, the two weaknesses to his game in the past. He always shown to have a good football brain but just lacked execution. Now - what a player. If he continues to improve at this rate, he will be a truly world class player. Mind you, he also seems to be playing much better now with teammates especially Tielemans running better and giving him more passing lanes, so he is improving with the help of his teammates too. StanSP Posted 14 February 2021 Share Posted 14 February 2021 I think it was one of Wilf's best performances for us. Not only for the volume of tackles/retentions/interceptions but for who he was up against and taking the ball off. Players who other world class sides have struggled to contain.

RumbleFox Posted 14 February 2021 Share Posted 14 February 2021 (edited) I’m one of those in the “Prime Kante is the best defensive midfielder we’ve ever had and one of the best ever in the world” camp but shit me, Wilf is getting close. lcfc sheff Posted 14 February 2021 Share Posted 14 February 2021 This summer we definitely need to look for some proper cover for him, someone who could replace him if the worst was to happen; someone young willing to play cup games etc. We aren’t the same team without him and although Mendy and hamza can do a job they just don’t bring to the team anywhere close to Ndidi. You’ll struggle to get better cover for him than them pair. He’s a World Class player and we will not be able to get a similar quality player to be cover. A bit like the Vardy replacement problem we’ve had. Trying to get a top player to sit on the bench as cover isn’t easy.

I think it could be easier than you’d think, the chap gets injured a fair bit nowadays and shouldn’t really be playing early rounds of cup games. There’s a good opportunity of game time for someone. Someone who can have the impact James Justin has had as cover at fullback is something we should aim for.
Popular Post Foxes BC Posted 14 February 2021 Popular Post Share Posted 14 February 2021 Ndidi is an outstanding player. Without him we would have stood no chance against Liverpool yesterday. He's still got 3 years left on his current deal, which was a big enough statement back in 2018 to offer him 6 years. Extend it and offer more money! He'll honestly not be sold for anything below £100m.
