Yes they should've left it at the door and its wrong to let it boil over, but it's understandable. It's exactly the right punishment. It lets the other players know that there's a line that they can't cross, but it avoids blowing the whole thing up out of proportion by kicking Sterling out of the squad. Excellent management.
