Was he one of ours ?? What happened ?? Pipe's started laughing and Stringer slapped him down saying that it's not clever.

The same stringer who has the personal morals of an ally cat

Sloppy performance but job done

With such a good turnout I thought the players should have done more to get the fans out of their seats

Second half the only good bits were the Gray shot, the Barnes run and shot and the lad on the pitch

Hats off to Union FS who sang throughout and created a decent atmosphere despite the lack of much notable action in the game

I see the mystery of why Benko has barely played is a bit less of a mystery now.

Injury proneness?

Bit of a slog second half but very comfortable. Get the game out of the way without having too much exertion. Hope Benkovic is just precautionary coming off, was doing well up to then. Demiral price tag has increased after that! Pleased for Barnes to get his first home goal. Wigan had a go but nothing to concerning. Bit unlucky with their goal, but everytime they tried to go forward they were offside. Tight it may have been, but that’s where we’re at currently. Bring on the Villa Wednesday night :scarf:

Thought the atmosphere sounded quite good on my stream. Nice to hear some of the old classic songs again.

Big pat on the back to our fans for 30k in a cup tie against a lower league side.

Great game from Harvey.

Got through without drama. Apart from the VAR replay. Gotta say that's harsh on those razor thin margins.

Worries about fitness of Wes and Benko.

Both ran out of the Kop end onto the pitch, then ran back off the pitch, 1 got caught and 1 went back on and starting dodging the stewards, ran the entire length of the pitch and then absolutely stacked it jumping over the sign around the pitch

Rubbish but we're through without too much fuss. Shame to lose Morgan and Benkovic, hopefully the latter isn't too bad because he didn't look too uncomfortable going off. Leaves us very short now.

Flat performance and atmosphere with on intensity at all.

The injuries probably make the back 3 unlikely against Villa so it will be between Gray and Barnes to play and I think Barnes earned a starting spot.

Job done.

Not rubbish, just not great. I’d agree there wasn’t much intensity (Play, not atmosphere) though. Again, seems like we held back on the energy reserves.

Wigan’s ‘goal’ was nice.

Union FS were great. Atmosphere not as lively as a league game or a local derby in other areas, but Union were enjoyable.

Pitch invader was a bell end.

Was always going to be comfortable. We've got enough quality to rotate and Wigan are a side that need to put staying up in the Championship first. A game against a side such as WBA/Leeds may have been closer.

Regardless, I'm pleased we're through and we should be treating this competition seriously similar to the League Cup.

Pleased to see key players rest ahead of Villa mid week.

Chilwell MOTM

Mendy  and Praet were good and Albrighton competed nicely…

stood to the side of the singing section and I thought it was great…. Well done all!

You can hear from the manager at this link. He was not happy with the performance and said it could have been much better.

- Unfamiliar position for Barnes, but the idea was to threaten the back line with his pace. Has played the position before at West Brom.

- Need a better "football idea" from some of his younger players.

- Wes has torn his groin :(

- Benkovic has a sore knee, need to see how it is. Doesn't seem as bad as Wes' injury.

I didn’t criticise his runs I said his delivery was shocking,

yes he had an assist but his final ball and decision making leave a lot to be desired

Into the 4th round. Union FS brought spirit to the Kop, great to see. LCFC Fox Nabils vlog from todays game.

We got the job done without going full out for the jugular again. The disallowed goal might have made it more interesting.

It appears the performance is a distant second to getting the W at the moment.

Other than they had probably had a few, why would you invade the pitch given the season we really having, getting banned from possible Wembley trips and CL football isn’t clever.

Interesting playing with no striker and no one very bothered about trying to be the striker, but got away with it.

The lad who came on at 90 minutes was good ran the length of the pitch and back and no one laid a glove on him just never got hold of the ball.

Dennis looked decent and Choudrey was energetic could see the difference when Wilf came on

Very comfortable, though a bit lacking in the build up play and final third. Think Barnes is much more of a threat when he has the pitch ahead of him rather than receiving the ball with his back to goal.

Love Albrighton but some shocking decision making at times, think he was trying too hard once he got given the armband...!

Job done

Albrighton crosses were crap. Hamza got nutmeged a couple of times. The second half was tedious, and would have livened up if the Wigan goal had stood.

Barnes,Praet, Gray and Chillwell all decent. Benji reasonable but a bit raw until his injury. Both him and Wes walked off, but probably a couple of weeks out for each.

Poor, Brendan spot on in post match comments. IMO poorest performance of the season.
But a win’s a win!

Liverpool and man city were worse
