Leicester 2-0 Wigan (FA Cup) - Post-Match Thread

Job done, Barnes and Choudhury were very good. Food and drink for them against Championship fodder.

Praying Benkovic is ok as he really got better as the game went on, 1st half he seemed reluctant to bring the ball up pitch and made passes/long balls from stationary positions but 2nd half he looked much better and oozed class.

That run of Barnes towards the end of the game was blistering.

Couldn't make it today but sounded like a professional perfomance. Need a centre back now.

Andy Reid ex Forest was impressed

"I can't see anyone displacing Leicester out of the top four and they should finish second in the league. I like watching the football they play - the change between the front players is good and the midfielders are very, very strong. They are a joy to watch.

Thoroughly professional job by Leicester today and they went about the performance in the right way. Wigan didn't do themselves any disservice at all, they worked hard and had a good shape but they never really had the quality to threaten Leicester. It was the performance we expected from Leicester but unlucky for Wigan."

It was, but with so many of his runs, either the final ball let’s him down or it’s a dead end.

Pleased he scored and he can only improve I reckon.

All a bit meh really and still comfortably got through.

Just shows what what a delight it has been to watch us most games this season though as that could be standard fare for a lot of clubs.

Rubbish but we're through without too much fuss. Shame to lose Morgan and Benkovic, hopefully the latter isn't too bad because he didn't look too uncomfortable going off. Leaves us very short now.

Flat performance and atmosphere with on intensity at all.

The injuries probably make the back 3 unlikely against Villa so it will be between Gray and Barnes to play and I think Barnes earned a starting spot.

Job done.

Thought the atmosphere sounded quite good on my stream. Nice to hear some of the old classic songs again.

I thought he was head and shoulders above Gray and Albrighton today who he was often inter changing with. Some of his touches and lay offs in the 1st half were unreal, he has a lot of polishing up to do mind you.

VAR an embarrassment again, they get a goal disallowed for half a kneecap being offside even though he still had to put a perfect ball in and the geezer finished it really well. then don't give a pen for a push in the penalty area.

not a great game but we did what we had to do.

Those times we made the final were pretty good chances.

Job done. A lot of average performances. Thought our midfield was pretty good, and Chilwell’s quality stood out, but Albrighton’s final ball was atrocious and we got really sloppy near the end and lucky with their disallowed goal. Lovely late run by Barnes though - that might give him more confidence than his (scruffy) goal.

Still, should be better on Wednesday with the first XI.

Best bit of the second half was that lad running on the pitch lol

Was he one of ours ?? What happened ?? Pipe's started laughing and Stringer slapped him down saying that it's not clever.

Monday night draws are shite, usually forget the draw is even happening by that stage (for the early rounds at least).

Stick them on Sunday afternoon instead.
