Corona Virus

Message added by Mark

No political discussion in this topic. That is complaining about a country, a politician, a party and/or its voters, etc

Why not? If they're sitting 2m away, ensuring social distancing (and staying alert because @Izzy is sensible), what exactly are they doing wrong?

This is my point Stan or am I just being thick?

I thought he said we could drive anywhere?

I’d like to confirm that I’m not infact either Boris Johnson are anyone else that’s drawn up these regulations. That might come as a shock pal but I know, I’m not the PM.

:plancque:not even you could come up with something so crap as those shitty graphics on that speach.

I agree haha. Did the people saying "STAY THE F**K AT HOME" all the time suddenly think the virus would have disappeared.

We're gonna be like this for as long as it takes herd immunity to kick in.

No? Odd conclusion you've come to.

He said it's ok to drive and "unlimited exercise" and you can "sit in a park". So, from my interpretation, yes but still with distancing.

Why didn't he just say A or B.

If he genuinely said 'A or B' that would have been much clearer than anything he just said now lol

I wouldn't call them regulations.  They're more like a vague set of ramblings that someone has jotted down on a piece of paper and fitted together into a 15 minute speech.

What a load of b*llocks.

Needs must.

I'm sure if the country was subject to bombs we'd see a different response than a virus which by and large only kills off the vulnerable.

Who are The vulnerable..??? So many caught out in the nomans -Land of our present knowledge....So called previously thought of fit people, have been found to have problems & have died

Not a load of bollocks....I just used a simple comparison that everybody should understand, no matter the non-comparables of event,

the long time understanding of long time discipline, and change of life's self-routines needs to be accepted.

Needs must....totally agree, but seems some forget & argue against those needs.

Experts & politicians have given us a requirement to follow,to see how we are doing it is the Reproduction Number.

Just seen Boris.J...I am Not a fan,I do believe like many other countries your past reactions were poor...but he seems to  be trying to slowly encourage,

Your Social movements, Though nothing definite on work, tried to implicate that People who can, should try  if they can try & get into work.

Obviously IMO depends on how companies and their management, treat the situation and their own workers & Workplace practicality...I

Maybe hes still lacking clarity

Germany R-rate,has Jumped this weekend, there will be concerns but I dont believe there will be panic. It is the First relaxing of lockdown, which was  not so hard as the UKs..plus there has been a couple of mitigating issues, that would of pushed up some stats in some areas....

I’d spell speech right though.

It just seems from the start they've been far too clever about it all. Like they've focus grouped everything. I realise that may be in response to our modern political culture but it's becoming slightly shambolic now.

Awful. I really don't see how this is the best road. I understand it's the least controversial one. Any data that I have seen though suggests that protecting the vulnerable and the health service while trying to achieve herd immunity seems our best bet.

We'll achieve it eventually, I just wonder if there'll be much of a country left if we try and drag this out for as long as possible.

I'd imagine we're trying to get people to go back to work as it's creating GDP and keeping the economy going. Seeing your familng and increasing the R that way isn't going to do anything for the economy.

But Boris didn't spell out in crayon that I'm NOT allowed to see my mummy.

True.  Took me two days to get back from India on Aeroflot once.  I remember being stuck in Moscow airport for twenty four hours on the way back with raging, violent dysentry.

I was stuck in Moscow via Aeroflot once, too.

I was in an entirely empty transfer terminal and lay on the floor near my gate for five minutes kip. I woke up and the entire terminal was buzzing around me. Horrifyingly embarassing.

Bigger fines come to mind.

What's the increase?  £30 becomes £60 becomes £100?

Should have slapped the equivalent of 1000 Euros on it from the start.

How do police go about enforcing that? I'm sure they're having trouble already dispersing people or issuing out fines (have they been doing it consistently?). Multiply that by however many times after today (people really won't wait til Wednesday to go to parks) and how do the police go about dishing out fines for every single person going to park that may be breaching the 2m rule or the same household rule?

Agree with the last sentence though - fines should have been huge from the start. Make it an actual deterrent.
